FSport 3.0 is great good job
but i got one problem asteroids are missing i first noticed this in second mission where you have to destroy 4 vasudan wings(+vas ace) in asteroid field that wouldnt bother me much as in that mission asteroids are only nuisance now im in mission Pawing the Way where you have to escort Galatea problem is that i can see asteroid only brackets where they should be hitboxes are missing as well so they cant be destroyed still they impact Galateas hull any ideas what it might cause?
-
Ugh. Type in complete sentences, please. Then I'll answer your question.
-
My optics,... OVerloaded with unborken text..
*faints*
-
Ok as you wish, im sorry you cant understand me;)
Well my problem is that all asteroids are missing is ast. fields. Its impossible to save Galatea because i cant see asteriods on collision course with Galatea. They dont even have hitboxes, but still they impact upon Galateas hull and its not possible to stop them.....
-
OK, i get you know, As i understand it, You're escorting the Galatae through an asteroid field but they don't appear on screen.
This was mentioned in another recent topic, but now i believe its a common error..... Is there a missing texture file @ Conversion staff?
-
i searched forums and didnt find it..
here is screen of "asteriod" near Galateas hull

No worries, the problem wasnt solved to be honest, Any answers from staff. BTW post in SCP as well, they may be able to help..

Ok as you wish, im sorry you cant understand me;)
I didn't say I couldn't understand you. I said you should type in complete sentences. It's common courtesy, especially if you're asking for help.
I believe your problem is caused by missing textures, as Colonol Dekker said. Can you post the VPs you have installed, as well as the command lines you're using?
-
well it looks like its whole FS2open without asteroids....
vps im using:mv_core, mv_textures, mv_models, mv_effects and Media VP 3.6.7 Patch 1-3(all from SCP mainpage)
i dont use any cmd lines
-
Try the -jpgtga command line.

Are all of your media vp's in a folder called mediavps in your main FS2 folder? Are all the fsport files in a folder called fsport in your main FS2 folder? I the answer to either or both are no, then they should be.
Example:
Freespace2\
mediavps\
mv_*.vp
fsport\
fsport*.vp
mod.ini (http://zacam.ueuo.com/temp/mod.ini)
portv3.bmp (http://zacam.ueuo.com/temp/mod.ini)
I would also recommend using the 3.6.8 Zeta MediaVP's (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,39905.0.html) along with Taylors 20060710 VP Patch files (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,39905.100.html).
And if you are not already using -jpgtga in your options, do so as Goober5000 suggests.
Also make sure you are running OpenGL.
If you decide to run a more current version of the SCP, grab either http://icculus.org/~taylor/fso/testing/multi_test.rar (http://icculus.org/~taylor/fso/testing/multi_test.rar) or http://icculus.org/~taylor/fso/testing/light_test.rar (http://icculus.org/~taylor/fso/testing/light_test.rar) but make sure that you have http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/latest/OpenALwEAX.exe (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/latest/OpenALwEAX.exe) installed first. You will also want the OpenAL installed if your plan on running any of the final version of 3.6.9 exe (which will arrive exactly when it arrives and not one second sooner) or any of the CVS Builds (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/latest/)

i found what was wrong vp file containing textures incl asteroids was damaged now it works perfectly
-
YA know I just don't get it I have all the media vp stuff in the main FS2 folder, the only stuff I have in their own folders is teh FS2 port stuff, and the 2 mods I downloaded, and I can hit an asteroid whenever I'm not looking LOL

I actually had the same problem. After getting Galatea nearly destroyed in Pawing the Way I figured out that something was wrong ;-)
Using -jpgtga solves this problem. Thx guys.
