Looks pretty neat. If they had given me the right info, I would have contributed too, but oh well:

needs some weapons variation, but other than that it looks awesome.

Looking great, though two of the fighters shown looked very much like an Enyo and an Executioner from Eve ;) Still looking fantastic :D
-
Explosion effects and backgrounds need a little work.... except the Cat's Eye nebula, that one looked good.

Needs more beams!
Looking nice, this thing has progressed pretty fast, would be nice to know how it plays though. :P
[edit]
Oh wait, you can download the "prototype" from the website... *tries it*

Un-Dvorak friendly. :( Looks gorgeous, but the physics inplementation is a bit weird. It's like half newtonian or something. =/ Nice start I guess.

Wow... I want three monitors now. They look more like windows than like monitors in that picture.

Okay, downloaded the Combat Prototype, loaded up what seems to be the only server they have, and had a ****ing blast for a good hour. Honestly, there's something addictive about starting with a lowly Interceptor zooming around the battlefield, and working up to a freaking Cruiser, blasting enemy Carriers out of space when before you wouldn't even think of straying near them. The downside of course is that your large cannons just can't seem to hit the little Interceptors, so you get several Interceptors on your tail, and you're damned incapable of taking the little buggers out! Nothing quite like taking down the second-largest enemy ship in the battlespace, only to have to run back to your own fleet when the enemy rallies around you, and... well, just damn. Can't wait for the mod to be done.
I recommend you give it a download (http://fl-tw.com/Infinity/infinity_combat_proto.php) [scroll down a bit to download 1.0], it's quite a bit like FS2, only a little more intuitive what with much more realistic physics and the ability to strafe in three-dimensions, not to mention a map where you can fly through the caves of a giant asteroid, dogfighting in a central cavern.

I'm a regular on their forum, and I've played this as much as I can with my severely outdated computer, and a little bit on another guy's computer. My goodness, it is ever so fun. Orbiting a carrier or battleship and pounding away at it while its cannons futilely attempt to swat you out of the..uh..space... is very satisfying, as is lining up for a run into the enemy battleship's fighter bay. Which is hard, because if you're off by the slightest amount you're screwed, and you're in for a pummeling.
Yes, the physics are hard to get used to, but once you do, it's hard to return to non-real world physics like in FS2.

I want them to make an I-War remake............ :(

There's no hope... Bloody WoW, everyone wants to make a MMO these days.

You don't understand Fury, Infinity is what is missing. MMO games can be great if they're fun. This is what everyone thought EVE would be before they played it.

This is a galaxy wide MMO. Take a look at how far the guy's gotten. Seriously. It's going to be amazing.
