Where DO people come up with names like "Ertanax"?

Some other weird ones I've seen: Tsathoggua, Cthon, Mi-Go.

They're all names from the Lovecraftian mythos.

It's always a nice touch to pick names for most of your ships from a single strain. Personally, i've got all my ship names from one or two pages of the Wiki, which is hands-down just the best source for names.

Hmmm... the names of the ships in my campaign I either made up or got off that "How the ships got their names" page on... one of the older FS2 sites. Can't remember which.

I use to look at the credits on the back of a random dvd.

I always just took random names and added/subtracted letters (Methos ---> GTCv Methodus, par exampla).

Trouble with that name is that it makes me think of Methodist which makes me think of that ****ing nasty communion bread... hem... anyway...
