Title: GTBC Blade Model...
Post by: PotzUK on August 03, 2006, 01:40:16 pm
Ref: http://hades-combine.com/web/index.php?ind=downloads&op=entry_view&iden=174

Is someone able to fix the texture bug on this model?  I love the look of it and I would want to use it in my campaign... but the (missing?) texture where the (I think it's a fighter bay) is meant to be ruins it... it's effectly transparent (see screeny)

I tried to open it in ModelView, to see if it was something simple, but it gives:

Quote
Error #6027:
Too many bounding boxes.
Should be <=4886184

 :doubt:

Get the modelview update from vasudan admiral at
http://www.geocities.com/vasudanad/modv32b5.zip
it should solve the bounding boxes problem

Hey m8y,

That's the one I'm using unfortunately, but thanks.  I wouldn't know what to do if I could get it to open though!

Nearly identical to one I made 2 or 3 years ago, I think.

I think it was made as a tribute to your GTWC Orc or something.

Hmm - it is similar isn't it.  I'll use your Orc model instead :)

I just downloaded it from Hades-Combine, but I can't see any table entries in the rar... does it need any?

Um, I think the Orc at HC is a different one, anyways.......there were 2 versions or so.

Is yours available somewhere then? :)

Bugger knows.  I think the one on HC is newer and hence better, though.

Except it's missing a table :(

That's my model. If there is a texture missing, it's probably Soc13.pcx.

The model is indeed inspired by the Orc, and it's a higer detailed version. I won't be able to upload the fix until I get my pc back (3-4 days), but you can use pcs to replace that texture with some other.

Hi Trashman,

I put a file into the maps folder called Soc13.pcx but that had no effect. :

You can see which texture is missing in modelview32. Then you can replace that texture in pcs with another one by simply renaming it.

Hi m8,

The model won't open in Modelview... what's PCS?

Pof Constructor Suite.

And ModelView32 can reskin by using pof editor and then selecting texture names. Which error isn't opening up the model? If its too many bounding boxes, go try the new updated version of modelview. Try decent network or something...

And it was not the GTWC Orc, the GTWC Gryphon. Try the Gryphon. Orc was the Inferno name for it I think.

Hey guys,

I've managed to fix it :)  I found it was missing a texture called 'cobra' and the SocTile14a.pcx should have been named SocTile14.pcx.  All done :)

Good for you.

Great! Glad it works. Alltough I'm a bit confused as to what the hell the Cobra nameplate is doing in the rar..
I'll have to look into that.

The Gryphon is a hideous ugly mess from (literally) years ago.  There were at least 2 versions I made of the Orc (the latter of which resembles a funky wee baby Deimos), both of which are far nicer.

Do you have links to them?

Wasn't there a reskinned Gryphon in Inferno R1 called SOC Orc? Or was that another model? It had a lot of EMP things that annoyed the hell out of me.
