Title: I'm back, and I've got a model for you to pick a part.
Post by: Artimus on November 24, 2001, 12:03:00 am
It's not a FS model, but you people have a eye for things, so I though I'd show this to you. It's a Battletech Medium mech of my own design. Built and rendered in Rhino 2.0.

If anyone knows something about the Battletech table top game, here are the stats for it-

Pretty nice design.  Little light on ammunition but you have to try really, REALLY hard to get the thing to overheat.

I told you that It ("http://www.jskgames.homestead.com/files/home.html") would be done by November, well, mostly anyway...

Dude! Welcome to a realm where I'm not a n00b  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/devil.gif)

That mech owns as well - you've done a really great job on it  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

From the stats and the design, I would have to assume that this Mech of yours is strictly for quick recon and light combat?

Heh, it looks kinda like a cross between a Mongoose and an Uziel.
Good job.

Great design.  The legs look similar to those of Metal Gear RAY, without the toes of course  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

I was about to say the same thing...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Seems it would be quite powerful up close, and it has the armor to survive a prolonged closeup fight. Just keep it away from long ranged mechs, since it has absolutely no long range power, apparently.

A very good model and render, Artimus!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

And good to see you back again  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

I actually designed the weapons load out arround city fighting.

I've been trying to fit an extra ton of AC ammo in, but I havn't found a way acceptable to me short of droping the engine rating.

That's a pretty good loadout. You know, if it is a street fighter, you could decrease the speed down to 6/4. Just an idea.

What do you call the LB-10X?  The sucker has an 18 hex max range an an effective range of 12 hexes...  I think, I need to look it up as soon as I can get to my books, hope noone makes me look like a fool in the meantime  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Nice model, Artimus... can you animate it? It'd look damn sweet moving...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I can't animate it, but I can position it any way that I want.
