I've been in my new house in Tennessee for about 2 weeks and finally got reconnected to the internet. Of course the only thing I could get is dial up. No broadband of any kind is availble, but you can get cable 10 miles up the road which sucks for me. I'm hoping at somepoint Comcast gets off their lazy asses and service the rest of the homes in the area. And Swantz, if you see this, you still will see me on ZD once in a while.

Ah, nice to hear man. I know it sucks living in the middle of nowhere. Also, yeah, you should be able to play on Zdaemon no sweat, well, as long as long as you don't want to host :p.

Welcome back to the land of the internet.

The thing is, in my old home I lived farther away from civilization and we could get everything. It litterally took 30 minutes to drive from my house to the nearest store, resturant, and gas stations. Here, it only takes 5 minutes to get somewhere but we only get dial up which is weird.

I bet there are alot of farms out there right? Or just places that were small farms.

There is a bit of both.

Well, telcos think the demand will be too low in such areas. I know my Dad's Girlfriend lives in one of those areas. She god sattelite, which is just plain horrible, so she's switching back to dial-up. There's quite a few people in the area, but most of them have no interest in computers, or not enough to constitute broadband. So the companies aren't going to waste the money running the lines.
