InPhase indicated that the first incarnation of the InPhase technology would be used for archival purposes, and D'Ambrise indicated that that will still be the case: media will be roughly $120 to $180 apiece, and drives will cost about $15,000
While this tech is really cool, its price tag is not.
If it didn't cost so ****ing much it would be the ultimate Blu-Ray and HD-DVD killer.

if it follows the same trend as other optical devices, it will start off expensive as **** and in a few years, it will be available for less than $50 bucks.
