Title: i need help

my game keeps on freezing randomly when i play. it also happens when i play other games and the screen sometimes just goes black when im not running any program at all, but it didnt happen before i installed fs2. it also sometimes auto restart and then goes system has recovered from a serious error. i think its a virus but my virus detector cant find it. some1 help me out?

It's probably hardware related if it mainly happens in games. I had a similar problem a little while back and opened my case to find that my graphics card's fan had self destructed.

You should take a look for both that and also push your graphics card firmly into the slot to make sure it hasn't come loose.

i just read another thread about the game randomly freezing and it says to use opengl. it seems my comp only has direct 3d, would i need to buy opengl? but i dunno why it happen in other games and on desktop it also freezes. the graphics cards are in, but the power box fan has some problems...

You definitely don't need to buy OpenGL. But if you're having problems with other programs and with the OS then it's very doubtful that FS2 is responsible.

What kind of graphics card do you have?

my dad installed all the stuff on my comp so im not really clear. in the fs2 launcher video tab it says "direct 3d - primary display drive". i noticed it happens less in other games or any other thing im doing. i have deleted the stupid windows update and turned the auto download off because when i shut down it takes really long to install. when i was uninstalling it says if u remove this the following progs may not run properly and displays things including fs2 and other games and some other progs. might be that?

I'd say that whatever you uninstalled was the cause of your problem. I've got no idea what it was though. You should be able to turn off Windows Update with a few mouse clicks. It certainly doesn't require you to uninstall anything.
