Title: I need a few things... Warning, Bizarre...
Post by: Getter Robo G on August 08, 2006, 04:08:07 pm
I need a Duck model (yellow, squeeking bath type) high, medum, and low poly (FS2 compatible) versions...

I Also need to know how to capture avi's (or other movie formats) into "Single Frames" to make into anis with anibuldier.  This is much more ambitious than mere 15-frame Trek torpedoes I've done :D

That is all I will say at this point...  ;7  Think of it as a "proof of concept" with nothing specific stated yet, if it ever gets done, upon viewing it will be PAINFULLY obvious what it is supposed to be.

Wow... this took me only a few minutes... ;)

I hope it will be enough for your purposes.

Brain,  PERFECT!!! Now I just have to run to the store and buy one (probably after work tomorrow morning) :D
I'll probably end up just using the HP-duck though. I appreciate it!!! I'll be testing it when I get back home.

Actually, NOT NEEDED, but sounds fun. How about dropping the lowest duck completely and using pieces of the medium one as debris? I was thinking: beaks, tails, half a face? that sort of thing?  Of course I have no idea how to convert more than one model into a pof (I think I still have the 4-5 lod Tennyson .cob on my HD for like 3 years still unconverted successfully, heh)

I found the video I need, gonna have to fraps it though and edit out the web page its posted on (no option to DL it)... So I guess I will have to zoom in and then recapture it?

I have the audio track I need, let's just say that is what inspired me the most to try this!!!  ;) ;) ;)

That still leaves taking sections of it in some sort of movie format and then converting those short scenes into PCX frames... How many frames can an ani file be max? IF I do the whole 2 min clip I dont want to hit performance too bad. Would look like crap for the video (This is not something you play, just for fun to show off)

Oh and Kara...     :wtf:

I have no idea what you are talking about.  I would have no idea of how to "do" Ivonova's breast other than the manual way.  ;7  (and I might add, I would glady do IF she were interested!)  :P

On more thought, perhaps you were thinking along the lines of something like this:

Narrator - "IF tits got mad at each other and fought, there would be... BREAST WARS!"

Then we could zoom in on Ivonova's chest and like animate both of them into rebel and Imperial Breasts.

Ok, I'm stopping this line of though and reeling it back into "Bizarre Mode" and not "Total Freakazoid Land"...

on a side note.... I think I'm turning dyslexic in middle age?  I had to correct 12 spelling errors : teh, ign, fo ect...

I took a wild stab at what you might be up to but apparently guessed wrong.

As for the connection between rubber ducks and Ivanova's tits.

From the Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 - Sleeping In Light epiosode guide (http://www.midwinter.com/lurk/countries/us/guide/110.html)

Quote
It seems that certain people once had a certain fondness for certain
parts of Claudia Christian's anatomy.  These people started a thread to
discuss them, and this thread was called "Ivanova's t*ts," and it was
slightly censored to appease the vocally offendable.

Certain _other_ people asked, "So why don't we ever have threads like
this about the _guys_?"  And so, not to be outdone, these people promptly
started a thread entitled "Sinclair's d*ck."

JMS saw this thread, and unto it posted the reply: "Hey!  How did you
find out about that?  We weren't supposed to introduce Sinclair's duck
until season 3!"

Shortly thereafter, the aforementioned gif appeared on the Lurker's
Guide.

Let that be a warning to you.

I don't ever remember seeing Sinclair's duck. Got a screenie from that episode?
I know Garabaldi has a Daffy Poster over his bed.

It never actually appeared in the show, just the render on the Lurker's guide.

I suspect after pushing the teddy bear out of the airlock JMS might have become suspected of hating toys if he also did similar things to a duck :)

We'll probably never get to know what JMS had in mind for Seridan's duck...

Egads, what have I done?

Anyway I had a lot of curious looks as I wandered from work to Walmart, Kbee toys, Kmart ect and asked for possible locations to find one... No luck on a squeeking Duck, but I got one regardless...

I got black material, and a strobelight... NO luck on Disco lights though :(

Plus this IS a low budget venture...

STay tuned!

We will overcome with the incredible power of Roboquacknology!

(See what happens when people foolishly give me what I want?)
Notice Rick's call sign on the wing...

Trust me, you have NO IDEA what's going to happen, unless you remember a vague idea I threw out like 2 years ago.

I still need to figure out how to take a small vid and then turn it into signle frames...

TBC...  :P

I have a bit of deja vu, but maybe that's manufactured.  I searched for all posts by you containing "duck" and got nothing significant. :)

Is it wrong I remember that Mr. Lingerie line, who said it, and when?
Title: Re: I need a few things... Warning, Bizarre...
Post by: Getter Robo G on August 11, 2006, 02:01:05 pm
NANI!?

Wrong in what way?  Rick was with MInmay in a Lingerie store. He was super bored and had a bag of her lingerei she made him hold. He got seperated and "bumped" into Kim, Sammy and Vanessa and they noticed when he had teh items (I think) PLUS.

One of them accused him of being a "pervert". Then Minmay showed up (I'm gonna have to watch the episode over agian:) It's classic. )

Aftert that the bridge bunnies for a short time called him, "Mr Lingerie" in whispers to other people. Imagine Lisa's surprise when she found out!

Aside from VT-102 and Vermillion member, then later Skull Member and Skull Leader Rick never really had a call sign, plus I took cerain "Liberties".

I call Miriya "Red Queen"
Max "Blue Devil"
ect...

ok I MIGHT do a bumper. Bumpers are the quick name brand screenies that last 2 secs before cuttign to and from commercials.

Cobra, if you want can you say, "Ok kids, ROBOQUACK is back now!"

Someone else wanna go at, "Stay tuned for an urgent message from ROBOQUACK!"

no garuntee they will be used, but liek I said. will be an attempt... (goes to find a suitable fake commercial)...

Decided to keep this thread going as the wording is appropriate for people (like me! :nervous:) to ask questions they don't really want/need to give detailed background on WHY they need them... You'll find out soon enough.

Question1:  Can you add a dockpoint inside an object (like center mass)? We'll call it object#1

Question2:  Can you make object#2 larger and hollow with a dockpoint in the middle (center mass) but that is in open space? Like in the middle of a ring?

Question3: Will Object #1 and #2 be able to stay successfully docked (with object#2 rotating around onject #1 and the dockpoints both in same place center) if they is enough room so they do not physically touch each other?
IE the ring is much larger than the other object and can freely rotate in any direction like a gyroscope?

Rotation on one plane only needed, but just had an idea of placing a non-weapon fixed turret just for tracking purposes taht would point the rign object on appropriate plane of enemy for facign purposes...

-----------------------------

Question4: In general about docking, how fast can ships go and stay "docked" . Can I make 2 fighters dock and let control switch over to the 1st fighter? (this question in particular is geared toward the Robotech mod fro alpha and beta fighters)..

If I got a alpha and beta docked I can change teh alpha model to a batloid and they still will be docked as long as I got the model doclpoints in teh correct locations (even while movign yes?). Not critical but would be great eye candy just like int he episode you see them getting ready for battle.

I found the video I need, gonna have to fraps it though and edit out the web page its posted on (no option to DL it)... So I guess I will have to zoom in and then recapture it?

Here, get this. http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/article/flv-player-updated

Clear your browser cache then go right to the site with the video. Once the video is fully downloaded, use Windows Explorer to open the cache folder. The video will be the biggest file in there. copy it somewhere else and rename it with the extention .flv

Now you can associate .flv with FLvVplayer and play all those Flash videos offline. Whether or not you can transcode them to another codec....

FYI for them that wants to know... AVI, MOV and Matroska are file formats, MPEG, Divx, and Xvid are codecs. (Of course there are several other video file formats and video codecs.)
For example, an AVI file contains one or more data streams, usually one video and one audio. Each stream is encoded with an audio or video codec, for instance the video might use Cinepack and the audio could be WAV. Those streams can be taken out (demultiplexed or demuxed) and played on their own.

Heh, thanks! Program worked (but converter only does 90 secs of file in demo mode) no probs I got all I need... Much loopage to follow...

Off to Virtual dub now for slides...

[EDIT} VD had error, wouldn't recognize the XVID codec.?

Anyway I FRAP'ed the vid off the 4mb wm file and turned into 333mb! lol

I then was able to open with VD...

I made the animation and ready to test it.. I trimed it down to 1745 frames.. It;s 103mb .ani file  Think this will be a big performance hit? :D

will let you know later...
Title: Re: I need a few things... Warning, Bizarre...
Post by: Getter Robo G on September 01, 2006, 07:14:55 pm
Note, apparently FS2 does not like having to show 12 versions of this .ani on two cubes at 103MB each...  ::)

I trimmed it down to ONE cube and 20 frames but now mission hangs at last loading light block and never finished (no crash just hang)...

I need to go back and figure out how to do a plane textured on one side that fits the image square and not displays wrong. (yeah 3D 101...).

----------------------------------------

Now somethign new... I started anime explosions for certain types of weapons. I did not make these, but cut and sized them from master graphical displays of 16 per page and found the ones I thought would look good as a ani file.

I made a test one and love the static images, BUT when turned into an animation some thing happens to the (Pallet)? the color gets washed out and distorted pixels.. I used irfranview but there is no option under pallete to make all images use same RGB pallete... I got confused by the options and probably messed some of them up more.

I don't know what I am doing wrong.. Here is the images and the animation. I want the animation to look like the pictures.   The goal is to have dozens of these weapons exploding at same time and I felt they looked like some of the shows I've seen.

You rbest bet is, rather than do it as a .ani file, do it as a .eff file. .Ani's can only have 256 colours in the entire animation, whereas .eff's got over that problem...

Look at the section on Animated Textures....

Do .EFF's work in 3.6? I normally don't use DDS for anything and for example had to convert dozens of Omni's ST textures back to PCX For the Trek mod cause they wouldn't show otherwise.

Missed your post. The answer is no,  they don't work in 3.6  I thought I was doing it wrong before. I followed the WIKI instructions now and caused a hella crash of both FRED and Mod.

I will have to stick with .ani's for this build..

I just wanted to know if there was a way to keep it as an .ani without having the color get washed out (that's why I uploaded the files.)  ;)

ANYWAY... seems I am at my limit for some things. At least until I get the in game video projectors working right.

Here's a "sneak Peek" (SPOILER!!!)

A standard VF-1A (Veriable Fowl - type 1) strafes a Zent ship while in the background you can see the S.D.F.-1 (Super Dimensional Fowl - 1) take a hit as it moves into position...

BTW,

Does anyone know any type conversion program for using Flight Simulator meshes as standard model formats? (.MDL's).

Milkshake can't do it as it's a difff type of .MDL then Quake and Serious Sam use. Unless there is a plug-in I don't know about...

Seen it... From the listed description it sounds opposite from what I need. Unless I read it wrong it takes an .mdl from Flight Simulator and turns it into a cfs proprietary format for that game (Microsoft Comabt Simulator)...

I want the flight sim file for OPEN use in FS2 so I need it converted to: .obj, or, .vrml, or .lwo, or .3ds, or .cob I can handle all those formats (just NOT .MAX!!!)

And I only worship the spork when I go to KFC for potatoes...  ;)

gggrrrr, was workign on a new turret for Gundam mods specifically (or others), but ran into a snag.

In modelview the arm bounding box is INSIDE the main hull!?!!!

There is no way to move it..

Also soemthing I never seen before, th turrets have spaces in the subobject list

t1
t1-arm

t2
t2-arm

ect... as if there are two unlisted object in the way!? Is this affecting anything??

I cobbled the turret together out of DOGA parts and think I screwed up the axis though they look right.

If anyone who knows turrets can look at this and explain what I did wrong woudl be great...  l8tr...

Just when I thought I figured this stuff out...  :(
