Has anyone ever considered setting up a library of TBP campaigns or missions? I just looked through this forum and found the Missions and Campaigns thread, but it seems incomplete for some reason. Is this really all that has been done?
What I'm thinking of here is a wiki. The site would not host the downloads to conserve on bandwidth. Instead, it would simply be a collection of all the current campaigns and missions, and should be easier to use than forums. I assume you all know how wikis work, so I won't go into the benefits/problems of them. Basically, when someone makes a new mission/campaign, that person then goes to the wiki and adds it to the library, along with download links and a link to a discussion thread for it here, if one exists.
It's an idea that is already being used for unit graphics at the Civ IV Wiki.

Something else that might work well to make these easier to find would be to simply create a new child board here under TBP's forum specifically for missions/campaigns. Then police this board to keep it only about new mission/campaign releases. This might be a good idea even with the wiki, to help clean up the main forum. Everytime a new mission is created, go to the mission/campaigns child forum and post a discussion thread for it.
Just a few ideas. I'm new to FS2_Open and TBP, and I'm finding it rather hard to find new content. I would make the wiki myself, but I have no idea where to find the campaigns and missions to add to it. If anyone likes this idea and wants to try it, I'll do what I can to help. I'll see about getting a wiki page setup, but I don't want to do it unless I know that others are going to support it.
One note. If anyone likes the Wiki idea and makes a go of it, it needs to be added to TBPs homepage, so people don't have to dredge a forum to find it. A lot of folks, like my brother, don't care for forums and would never look here to find new missions and such.
My appologise for bringing this up. I'm sure its probably already been discussed, probably several times.

There are only about 3 people working on campaigns for TBP. The only finished campaign for the newer releases as far as I know is RW. There were other campaigns in the past but they have not been maintained and are now most likely incompatible with the ever evolving TBP core files. If you want to get into making missions/campaigns for TBP then you'll find you have a hungry target audience. Just be careful not to bite off more than you can chew as a newbie. Like I said in the other thread, and really I'm understating it, it ain't easy.

There's always the FRED Academy though. We'll hold your hand through your earlier steps (as long as you've done TBP's walkthrough) and we will make you a better FREDder than you would be on your own. :)

The main thread will show you how it works :) Campaign 5 is set in the B5 universe and still has missions free.
