Title: How do I get HDR-lite/ HDRish to work. ATI 9800
Post by: Asmo on August 11, 2006, 01:14:07 pm
I'm sorry S-99, but I might aswell make a thread about it... Im impatient :)

I have the "Current programmable SMARTSHADER Effect" control. + effects. I have tried all kinds and run them with Fs 1 and Fs open mvps latest build.

I have 9800 pro radeon with 6.6 drivers. Have tried to look for differnt control center versions, but none have had smartshader effect options.

How have you done it?   What I want to see is how it looks on the 368 screenshot thread at page 11-12 by S-99.

Am I doing something wrong or is it a driver issue?

Downgrade the drivers to 6.3 or lower. They inexplicably dropped that feature starting from 6.4, and on an older card you won't get any significant performance boosts from the latest drivers.

Yep you are right thx. It works with 6.2, NOT 6.3 tho.

Im not sure it works 100% but different shaders do apply. It's funny o\

That's odd. I have 6.3 and it works like a charm.

It worked for me too when I was on 6.3, athough I didn't use it in FS2 since it makes the backgrounds blurry. I would have stayed with that driver if it wasn't for the speed boosts in 6.5 and 6.6.
