I hate the command briefings in fs2  :hopping: :mad2: so much it makes me want to :headz:
In mods like inferno parts of the command briefing gets cut off. And why is there no way to scroll down? You could scroll down if nessacary in fs1 why not fs2 if its supposed to be better. I actually read the command briefings and it just gets me so ****in angry when I can't scroll down. The only other option is look in fred and I'm too lazy.
I'm going to bed

The command brief cut-off is something I don't like either. It happens because they don't have voice files, I think. Anyone know of a way to keep a brief (either command or pre-mission) on a certain stage w/o voice files?
-
uh, just press the pause button between the arrows on the briefing screens. I thought that was rather obvious. :p
-
Dudes... You are so missing the issue here
He's talking about how there's more text in the commbrief than there is room in the little window. Right? It annoyed me too in vanilla. But SCP fixed that. What build are you using, BS403? Coz with even remotely recent build, there should be little arrows to scroll the text window with, and you shouldn't have that problem...
-
You need to have mv_core.vp installed to get those buttons though.
This shouldn't be an issue with the main FS2 campaign. If it's an issue in any other campaign then it's cause the FREDder screwed up. Forgetting to play in 640x480 to check the briefings work is a common mistake. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if I've made it a few times myself.
-
He could be using a different resolution, right? It happend on my other computer ('specially with Just Another Day, I wanted to read the spam in my mailbox :D ).
-
It's a FREDder's responsibility to make sure that the campaign works in 640x480 though.

:hopping:
I meant from a FREDder's point of view, so that hitting the pause button is not required.

You really shouldn't need to have that long a briefing. . . ever wonder why it's called a breifing? You give the essentials during the command briefing. Then, out in the field, you give the rest of the mission to the pilot. Trust me, if it works in Star Wars, it'll work in FS2 . . . .
-
Real command briefings last hours.
-
yea, if you move at a snail's pace. . . . :p :p :p :p
methinks youthinks that debriefings take hours, mainly because everybody has to tell their part of the mission. Debriefings take hours, briefings take at most thirty minutes due to the fact that they want to get you out and fighting. If it took hours to brief you, by the time you got flying, your capitol ship would be Shivan toast. . . ..

Snails can make over 30 briefing icons in less than one hour.

1) but how many CAMPAIGNS can you pour out?
2) and how well do they fly? (in a fighter, not thrown across an installation :p)
-
Throwing snails across an Arcadia and seeing how far they go before their little frozen bodies pop?
Even more fun than Pillbug-Bowling! :D

I was mostly referring to inferno, which I haven't played since I got the scp. And also I don't have the mv_core.vp installed although I think it's sitting on my desktop.

oh, I see what you're talking about now. :o I actually used to run into this problem quite often with my own command briefings in retail FS2 and had to keep checking my stuff in 640x480, but those arrows were one of the first things added into FSO, from what I can remember.

Does the game even work without it? I thought that file was required, although I could be wrong.
-
None of the media VPs are required. FS2_Open should always run using nothing but retail data.
-
Caertain mods may require a specific version of FSOpen, due to using a SEXP or something that was deleted/added, but the medias are there solely for graphics enhancements.

SNAILS are no doubt the most advanced creatures on Earth. Even more advanced than mice.
-
Shhhhh! Don't call them mice or they'll know we're onto them! :nervous:
-
*whispers* the mice created earth, the snails just found it shhhhhhhhhhhh :nervous: :nervous:
-
My sister cuts mice's tails off and runs scientific tests on them in grad school (getting PHd in Genetics).
:p
-
*whispers really loudly* DON'T SAY THAT!

I think this old thread has been beaten enough

yea. . .

I think this old thread has been beaten enough
old  I started it less then two weeks ago

Old, as in an old dead horse crawling with maggots and decay
(damn, did I just resurrect it to say that?)

haa! :p
