Is there somewhere a complete list of all the default command keys for Freespace 2? I just got FS2 installed after downloading and burning the three CD images, bought a Saitek ST290 Pro stick at WalMart yesterday. ($19.97 and no sales taxt in Ontario, Oregon!)
I'm gonna need a cheat sheet for a while with all these dozens of commands... Hmmm, maybe I'll see if anyone has a Saitek P8000/PC-Dash 2 on eBay... 37 programmable buttons! Think that plus 6 and an 8-way hat on the stick would be enough buttons? :)

Go to options and go to the controls customization. :D
-
In flight you can also press F1, I think? It's one of those F buttons. It'll bring up a menu. If it's not the controls list, just keep going down the F button list until the button list is shown.

F2 and go to control config.
But it's not exactly the best way to check out the controls in-game. What you want is to get the Manual\Reference card from HotU (http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=4150) and print that out.

well, it doesn't exactly show ALL of the controls, i think.

I might be able to fiddle with that, add all the rest to it, then do up a document with InDesign that has spaces to fill in your own custom key bindings. Something like all these games with a couple hojillion commands ought to include in the box.
I may even find some way to make it a PDF with the command fields editable and saveable.

After a few screencaps and a mess of typing, here's the complete list of the commands useable in-game. IMHO, the Energy Management and Shield commands should be in the Ship section, but this is how they're listed in the config, except for I moved all the multiplayer only ones to their own section.

:eek2:
There's a self-destruct command! There's one I didn't know about.
-
it only works in multiplayer though. :)
-
Yep. Occassionally in multi you lose all your subsystems but don't die. At which point you have to sit and wait for someone to come along and finish you off.
In SP you can always quit the game instead.
-
I've been completely disabled a few times...
Worst time I was ever disabled was in single-player. I finished the mission (IDR which one) just as another wing of enemies came in. I gave the depart command, and started off to jump too. I waited too long, apparently, and lost ALL my subsystems. No engines, comm, nav, weapons, etc! I was just sitting there with the the ALT button pushed in, nearly ready to press J. I killed a destroyer in that mission, too. It stunk that I lost that mission b/c it took awhile and I was probably going to be promoted to Lt. JG (I was ensign at the time)

Bizzybody thanks for the list of commands... saved me some tim

What is with all the thread necroing of late? OverDHill - and everyone - the forum warns you not to post in old threads unless you have a reason. This is not an example of a good reason to bump a thread that's over seven years old. :doubt:
