Title: Screenshot help
Post by: S-99 on August 24, 2006, 04:40:14 pm
What's the default fs2 screenshot button. On a better thought, what's a good free screenshot utility(don't say fraps). A screenshot utility that in particular lets you at least take jpg's and png's at the push of a button while running fs2 :)

Quite frankly the print screen button only lets you do one screenshot in the clipboard, then you must exit fs2 and paste it to an imaging program to have your image.
On another note, fraps really isn't that great, and just grabbing fraps would suck anyway, if i'm going to get another program i'd rather it be a good one.

Uh, no.  The print screen key should take a screenshot and save it in the "screenshots" directory in TGA format.  It may also save it to the clipboard for you (as part of a windows thing), but the game is set to save it to file.

Umh... Not all screenshots... only inflight screenshots get automagically their own respective files in the 'screenshots' directory.

But that is not a big issue as you can easily run FSOpen in window mode and use for example Irfanview simultaneously and save the screenies from the clipboard after taking them.

Should work from anywhere, at least, it does for me.  If it doesn't work in all menus, the lab, and anything in-mission, then you need to file a Mantis bug on it.
