Nah. Put blue pulse weapons firing from the claws, and the beam firing from the nose. The only downside is if the eyepoint is at the exact same plane. You'll fire the beam and temporarily lose visibility.

Btw is is possible to have blobs/glowing effects as missiles? I don't want them to have human like missiles at all.

Yes.. well... sort of glowing. Either with invisible model with glowpoints, transparent 3d model, or scripted effects. Add particle spew and trail and there you have it.
EDIT: Also well placed and directed (minimum of 4) thruster glowpoints with invisible model

Oh how I dread when the time comes to cut these models up to merge the parts together...A billion little tiny nearly impossible to see polygons LOL.

Whats that you say? I normally just merge them (the little icon with two intersecting balls) is that wrong :nervous:
I've never had a bad pof conversion yet :D

Normally for most of my ships i don't even merge them, just leave them as seperate subobjects. However, the connection between the two parts needs to be smooth (and smooth in smoothing maps too)

Ugh I forgot how I created that texture now. I know it uses the stained glass filter in photoshop and some bumpmapping in Max but i can't remember how to get that rough surface look. :shaking:
Edit: Geez just after posting this i found it, murphys law LOL
in photoshop take two good colors (blue/green example) and create a cloud with it (filter->render->clouds)
in Max Assign a bumpmap and use Celluar with Chips characteristics.

Had a bit of a trouble with the large wings, pcs didn't want to convert it. I ended up using my boolean trick to fix that and vola..
It's about time I get those converted over, they been sitting on my hard drive for how long now... that and those missiles i made a while back.
edit: wait till I get the glow maps on it... hopefully it'll look even weirder

You know, Scooby, I've seen lots of your models in threads here, but one thing I don't think I've ever seen is a download link. Am I just looking in all the wrong places? :confused:
P.S. The models are looking better and better. Keep it up! :yes:

Some of these (mostly the repainted ones) have been released earlier, (most likely the url expired by now). Most of my models are now connected with Saga's tables and effects. When they release the prologue my stuff should be ready to go (I'll also release hopefully a Saga free version [the table entries will be reconfigured]) However if you find something you want now, advise and I'll post it.

Nope, but they have everything setup like wing commander like hud...etc.
