Title: Shivan Datafiles - Version 0.6

This is v0.6 of my Shivan Datafiles, a stable build all compiled neatly into one .VP file. All you have to do is plop this file into your root FS2 (retail) directory and you will have the files nessacary to make a shivan campaign. This release includes:

Anyone may use any of these files in their campaign, either keeping them in a seperate .VP, integrating them into their own VP, using the files seperatly, or otherwise, provided you give me credit.

If you have any contributions or suggestions to make, please PM me or post about it here.

Hi, Blackhole. I see you're still using the names 'Shivan Heavy Laser'. That sounds and looks stupid on the loadout screen. Try make new names, and create Shivan missiles instead of sticking to the Terran and Vasudan ones. And get rid of those hideous black spots where missile and gun bays were on the weapon configuration. Other then that, :yes:.

I'm not creating any new missiles or new names because this is only meant to "unlock" already existing items. Besides, i can't model and i have no ideas for any. If anyone ELSE has made shivan missiles i'd be glad to include them. And i'm afraid i can't see this "hidious black spot" that you are talking about. It all looks black to me.

As for alternate names, do you have any ideas?

EDIT: I've come up with the following

Shivan light laser = Hesfaul
Shivan heavy laser = Seidon
Shivan mega laser = Ranual

EDIT2: Found the black spots, removed

ill ceate the new missles...they have been buging me that the shivans are using terren missles

so, ill get on to that

so ive made a new hornet for the shivans, its is a an exact replica of the hornet exept for a new texture and that it is a swarm of 5 and the damage is decreaced 20% per missile to make up for the extra missle. it also takes up less space so ull get the same # of salvos

the name: SM-5 Trident-any objections to this name, i don't feel atttached to it (yet)

oh and a new tech DB descriptinon was made

and the other two hornet (#Weak and D) versions have been made with the neccisary changes

next up... the shivan harpoon

First that Descent tribute, now this... you are on fire, BlackHole!  :yes:

One criticism: the Shivan voices. They are well done, but it's more fun just to use the CommNode noise, I think.

Other than that, superb work!

blackhole: did u change anything in the tables other than the names? cuz if u didn't then i was going to put the name changes in a tbm file so it would be modular and easer to add in to other mods

For the weapon files, i only changed the name and added a tech entry along with a couple other needed entries. You can always compare my table files with the original tables files to see for yourself what i changed.

Why not use the Shivan bombs from Inferno? I like those.

Well, sure, but those are bombs, not missiles. There are no shivan missiles. Yet :P

Inferno also has a missile, but that one's just the EM Pulse from Silent Threat with a new skin. Also, I made a Shivan Cyclops using the same model with one of the Ravana's textures.

uh we may have a problam... :ick:

the name trident already occers in the game, even worse it is a class of shivan sentery guns...

so any ideas on names?

So? They never use the Tridents in-game, preferring the Belial by that point. Simply remove the SSG Trident if it bothers you. Inferno, I believe, has a Trident missile.

How about something more alien than "trident"? Remember, the only times you should be using these are in shivan campaigns, so we shouldn't be using terran naming conventions in the first place.
