Other than a few dodgy textures, this 'ere 'ere 'ere game looks amazin', an' dinna spare th' whip...  an' really bad eggs!    Now how it plays will be th' real test.

*sigh* Yet more shillery from DB.

Now thats outta the way, this game had better be freaking ace. Why? Because MS has NO OTHER FREAKING FIRST PARTY GAMES COMING OUT THIS YEAR. God, what a load of crap. Anyone else remember when they said they'd have a constant stream of first party games hitting? What the hell was the last one? Perfect Dark!! God, MS needs to get their crap together, because while the 360 may be a great console, it's really lacking in great first party titles, and the good third perty titles aren't enough to make up for that.

I would be extremely interested in this game, if only it was coming out on the PC. :doubt:

1. Epic isn't MS first party...
2. There are 3 first party titles coming out this winter (Forza 2, FSX, Viva Pinata)

@Fury: Games made and published by the console/OS maker.

@CP: I'll bet a lot it will considering a dev diary showed the devs playing a debug build on a PC.

First party games are games PUBLISHED by the console/systems maker. The game dosen't have to be developed by them, and IIRC, Gears of War is being published by MS, isn't it?

Since it's Epic, I'd assume it'd be being published by Atari, as per the usual.

PC Owners will have to wait for Unreal 3 unfortunately, but those screens look pretty nice, I'll avoid my usual comments about first-person shooters though, I think my opinion is well enough known by now ;)

th' jury's still out until it can actually be played.

seriously, it had better be worth the wait, i remember once upon a time that GoW was slated to be a launch title for the 360.

Well, according to the website (http://www.gearsofwar.com/) and wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gears_of_war) entry, it's being published by MS. Anyways, I hope the game is good, the 360 really needs its killer ap, and I hope this is it.

To be honest, it should've been; the 360 has, in the UK at least, a shocking dearth of any sort of worthwhile games releases, and I can't help but think waiting at least 6 months to release it and thus having more stock and more games would be far more advantageous than a slow trickle of vague mediocrity that means the console slowly slips out of peoples minds even whilst it's rivals are beginning their hype machines.

It's the same for the rest of the world, actually. The last truly great game the 360 had was Oblivion, and thats for the PC as well, before that was GRAW which is also on PC, and before that it was COD2, yet ANOTHER PC title. Yeah, Dead Rising is a fun game, but not a triple-A title like Oblivion and GRAW. Now Saints Row is out, and its getting a lot of merely OK reviews, nothing stellar.... MS really needs to get their collective asses in gear now that Sony and Nintendo are right around the bend, and bust out the amazing first and third party titles, because if they don't, I really think we could see the 360 go downhill a lot faster than anyone thought.

No. No! Oh, that is so mean. :p

Might I ask, does MS have anything similar planned for the NA Wii release?

I don't think so, since the Wii is coming out the 19th, which is a Sunday. Why chose to launch a console on a Sunday is beyond me, but thats the day they chose.

well dang, hold the presses, a positive multiplayer impression? sure it'd keep the masses happy, but if the multi's only good all you'd have would be unreal tourney with a slightly better background story
