Countdown at T-00:09:00 and holding.
Tune in to follow the launch from NASA TV (http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html) if you're interested.
Weather conditions seem to be within limits and there seems to be no technical difficulties this time, so it's looking good.
:)

Saw the launch, looked very cool. As always :)

I hope they don't retire those things before I get a chance to visit florida and see a launch in person.
-
I hope they do retire them before they all explode
-
Let's hope this time we wont see a tragedy...
Wasn't another type of spaceship being created, called Orion?
-
well there was the old Orion Nuclear rocket, but I think your refering to the new iddy biddy space capsule that looks like it came out of the 1950s
-
so did it blow up or not?
-
Not as far as I know. Though reports of a possible hijacking by Martians are still unconfirmed.

Calling a capsule Orion, quite odd.
-
Yes due to Nasa Naming conventions (and the last rocket series was called Saturn I think) hopefully we can skip ahead through the Neptune series and won't meet life forms until the next one...
Would be funny as hell (but migh start an inter-galactic war) if the Earth Captain (A guy with really cool hair named Frye) initiates first contact with:
(Note this is what they HEAR)...
"Greetings enlightened sentients, this is YOUR ANUS TOO! (Uranus 2)"
Alien double takes for a second then whispers: "Bob, charge the Blackhole Cannon... Fire!"

However only an Italian could call a capsule Orion. In a very popular language, similar to the word for b**l(s).
