I'm looking for an embedable media player (audio for now, video later). Sort of like what Google Video and YouTube offer, where you can embed videos in any web page. Except that the nature of the media means that I don't necessarily want to upload it to Google or YouTube, I just want to replicate that functionality.
To see what I mean, go to PCGamer Podcast (http://www.pcgamerpodcast.com/). It needs to be free, simple to use (since I'm a total newbie to Flash) and transmit the smell of fresh-baked apple pie through the Intertubes. I'm certain there are ready-made solution out there, but I'm really bad at Googling for these types of things.
Your kind assistance will be rewarded with high-ranking positions in the coming world order.

I have a really rudamentry Flash music player a thttp://myrmidonprocess.com/index.php?p=music that just takes the name of a track in as a parameter and gets it from that. I'm sure there's somethnig similar for movie files.

Yes Sandwich, something like that. I would like to avoid a) just having the standard Windows Media or Real embeded player thingy, and b) having the player be branded in someone else's style. Basically, what I need is exactly what you see when someone embeds Google Video or YouTube, except without their trademarks and hosting. I think you even had something similar on Brainzipper Sandwich, back in the early days. Think it was a Serenity trailer or somesuch. I've found one that does what I need, but it's a plugin for Wordpress and not a standalone app.
edit: think MySpace. What I need is essentially the functionality of their player.
edit2: As always, SourceForge delivers the goods.
