I have this problem:
i wanted to test some red-alert missions for Steady and tried to create a minicampaign with them.....
The available mission box is empty!I can't add missions.I initially thought the number of missions in data/missions was too high (with The Southern Cross and Steadfast ;7 )and I reduced it to 20.Still nothing.I'm sure it's something about the SCP.

Load up an existing campaign, then choose to make a new one. This sort of 'refreshes' the Campaign Editor's memory, allowing it to display your missions.
There may be a fix for this in newer versions of FREDOpen, I don't know.
-
I tried it and no mission is present. When I try to load the fc2 file...
"can't open file"
Then FRED crashes.
-
What version of FRED are you using. I thought this one had been fixed!
EDIT : Hmmmm on testing the campaign editor appears to have been badly broken at some point after RC 6. I'll look into it today.
-
FRED RC5.Because I need the speech,I never moved to RC6.I asked you if I could use FS Open RC5 with FRED RC6, and you said that it was possible, but I had no time to try it.
How we can create campaigns? Can I do it with the old FRED 2 or it won't work with FS Open misisions?
-
Use the debug build. It appears to be immune. I simply couldn't get it to crash out cause of this error.
Of course you'll need to have pristine tables before the debug build will work but that's a good habit anyway. :)
-
FRED crashes when I try to load the created campaign without missions.
Pristine?
-

i.e no errors. If you've added mods in a sloppy fashion you'll never get the tables to work in debug mode. However this is something you should fix.
The debug build crashes? That sounds like a different error.
-
UPDATE:FRED 3.6.7 has the same problem of 3.6.9.
Debug builds crash when I select Campaign editor.
-
I learned a new word! :D
The build was...pristine...it wasn't even running in fredhtl mode(only the normal 3.6.9 build)!
-
It's not the build that has to be clean. It's your mod.
-
If I run the Campaign editor with FRED without any mods installed,FRED crashes when I select Campaign editor.
I said,FRED wasn't in fredhtl mode.It shouldn't have mods doing this way.
-
And as I said do that with the debug build. I'm yet to get that to crash even once.
-
The debug crashes isntantly when I choose Campaign editor,I have posted this already.
-
Use RC7.
There are two bugs in the campaign editor in RC5. The first one causes a random crash with release builds. The other causes a crash with either build if the mission list is empty.
The second error should be fixed in RC5. It's definitely fixed in RC7. The other is still there.
-
Okay...
Another question, but please make it a Yes or No one:
I'll DL this RC7 build, but is it compatible with FS Open RC5?
-
No idea. Probably.
Campaigns should be though so if worst comes to worst you can always use it just to build the campaign.
-
I moved to the RC7 thread,I hope that Taylor can tell me if its compatible or not...
I wonder if I can create an fc2 with notepad....
