The highest rank?  :wtf:

That's just plain stupid. What moron would promote a guy, who, in some manner, possibly indirectly, ordered the death of some random guy.

Even worse, they're still not sure if the promoted guy is innocent!

If nothing else, doing this before the matter was completely settled was a bad PR move by the Police. They'd have to have been pretty bloody stupid not to see this kind of response to it, so I wonder what they are thinking....

Perhaps that they want her off the firearms squad, away from the public eye, and put into a nice desk job where she can't do any more harm? :p

I do wonder, His promotion obviously takes his entire service record into account, Not just the shooting, he must have been doing well to be part of the inital task force anyway.

She's a woman, you know, this miss Cressida Dick who was in command of the firearms team which shot the Brazilian guy dead.

:nervous:

My question stands.... Obviously she had a good career to be in command of the task force in the first place, Lets see how she does. ;)

Of course her career could've been really good, but she is still going to be jugded for the shooting, they didnt even wait till that was over.

Anyone think that because  British cops don't carry guns normally, they are too trigger happy when they do have shootys?
(or do they have guns as a norm now... :nervous:)
