For everyone's information. I have decided to nickname this vessel "The Big Bus 'O Doom".

There's something in that ship that creates an eerie Star Trek vibe. :shaking:

How effective have you found it as a fighter-killier vessel? I threw it in against a load of Zephyrs and the Raiders actually did fairly well. The odds were 4 Haliks versus 12 Zephyrs. Actually though it sort of fits with our rendition of the Brakiri in this mod. Lots of flashy weapons that are fairly ineffective.

@IP I tried the Halik against some falkosi. They did "as well" as I expected. It's a large target. And I think the bomber flag is limiting its turrets. And a Hyperion totally kicked their ass.
I think there is little we can do without gunboat AI. Right now you can slap some falkosi as escort and I think the Halik does what is expected from a Brakiri military vessel. ;)
I liked the 32mm in the turrets. At least it looks effective. :yes:
There's something about the debris though. I noticed considerable jerkyness when lots of Halik debris was in the air.

We have the tools available to us now to have have gunship/gunboat AI if we wish. I think maybe it's time we made use of objecttypes.tbl

I looked at Objecttypes.tbl and the table entry for the Fighter type is the same as that for the Bomber type. :wtf:

And in addition to those there's a Fighter/Bomber entry. :lol:

If any of you actually payed attention, you'd realize that VA has already made Gunship AI that way. He even posted it, but nobody payed any attention. :p

I remember that. I sacrified a squirrel for him because of that. I thought those were automatically integrated to TBP by our high level fiddlers.

Yes the search feature is pretty screwy at the moment. There was also a thread which contained a copy of the whole objecttypes.tbl from within the FS2 code. You need that if you are going to add another ship type so you can tell the other ship types to attack it.
