Title: Requesting some help
Post by: aldo_14 on October 03, 2006, 05:59:59 am
I would like people to assist in a small campaign of 8 missions;
- making new weapons sounds (min 2, max about 10-12)
- making new weapons art (optional; have some, would like better stuff)
- FREDing & testing (must be willing to work in tandem with others - and testing is to be incredibly exhaustive)
- skyboxing (i.e. to set up a space scene with nebs & planets in max and render it) & planet creation (if possible an actual planet model; this stuff is needed for cbanis too)
- ui art (ship/weapon select icons, simple HUD updates if possible - I realise the SCP handles a lot of this kind of stuff now, but i like 'hand crafted')
- voice actors (not quite at this stage yet, but I'm guessing that by the time I get enough names, I will be - or at least close enough to start.  No of parts, etc, TBC)
- animators; anyone who can rig a pilot model in particular, because I can't be arsed at the moment ;).  Same goes for anyone able to do high poly guns - well,  a high poly gun.

It's not a massive amount of work, but it's slightly time-hurried (Want to get it done ASAP); please Pm me or reply if you're interested.  I'm not expecting to get half the people I'm asking for, but I like to take a scattergun approach and ask for as much as possible :D

Many thanks in advance.

What sorta gun? Does it need any specific features or can it just be something nifty looking? *notes that several of the guns have a 'no way will *that* fit in *that* ship' look to them*

Coilgun firing DPU (etc) rounds, akin to a standard jetfighters' machine gun; not elongated barrel, short and stubby - and old fashioned. :)

To make a skybox, and a planet model?

If I had the experience to make a planet's map, I'd toss you one, but I dont know how to do that. Skyboxes... arent they easier?

Well, the skybox is going to be used for cutscenes with a/the planet, y'see, so they're heavily linked.  Albeit the skybox has an interesting challenge of making some nice volumetric nebulae :)

Hmm. I've never done volumetrics in Max yet. Though I've been dying to stress test this new Core 2 Duo...
