Title: FS1: Silent Threat FRED error message
Post by: Mustang19 on October 06, 2006, 08:44:15 am
I don't have FS2, and can't download it at the moment with my dialup internet, so for the past few years I've been playing FS1 w/Silent Threat expansion pack.

Now, if any of you have modded in Silent Threat, you'll notice that every time you save a mission that the game tells you that "this mission contains silent threat ships and you can't play it with base Freespace" message. I get this even when I don't add any Silent Threat ships! Is this a real problem or just another pointless FRED error message? Can you still run those kinds of missions on base Freespace?

It says "mission disk content", not "mission disk ships".  It displays the message if you use Silent Threat weapons in the weapon loadout.

If you're positive the mission contains no ST ships or weapons, then it can safely be used on core FS1.

It's strange. Sometimes it dosen't come up at all, other times I make a mission using only Seths, Apollos, etc., and it tells me it won't run. Thanks for the reply.

I found what it was.

On the team loadout selection thing, the GTF Loki and Zeus are allowed by default. I was designing missions but forgot to disallow the Lokis in the team loadout.  :D FRED teaches you something new every day.
