Yay! I like nVidia and Intel! I don't like ATI and AMD...
-
Interesting.
And the funny thing is, they are pairing up with the same personalities that I gave the companies. ATi and AMD always seemed like the same sort of company persona, same with Intel and Nvidia.
-
Not to mention that nVidia chipsets are popular for intel processors, and both are comming under fire by AMD/ATI. Intel video chipsets used both ATI and nVidia hardware... looks like they're going 100% with Intel or nVidia chipsets cause ATI will be expensive...
Theyre really chopping up the market. If Intel+nVidia join then AMD+ATI will be like the north and south hemispheres of computers. You gotta look at non-intel motherboards which are rare on factory systems... it might come down to the point where nVidia chipsets dont allow ATI graphics cards and ATI chipsets dont allow nVidia graphics cards.
-
That would just be stupid and counter profitable. Of course you're going to want to sell your video card, regardless of the motherboard it will be put into.
-
Last I knew they decided not to do that.
-
What about those of us who like AMD + Nvidia?
-
Maybe if they have NVidia, then Intel will make some decent integrated video chips. Seriously the ones they have now can handle Quake 2, but I don't think they can handle much more than that.

The 955 will run UT2004 reasonably well, but the vertex shaders run on the CPU so you need a good Pentium-M.
