Regal Entertainment Group, which has more than 6,300 screens in 40 US states, said it would not show the film because of its subject matter.

Spokesman Dick Westerling said: "We do not feel it is appropriate to portray the future assassination of a president, therefore we do not intend to programme this film at any of our theatres."

Mr Westerling said Regal had received "numerous phone calls and e-mails" supporting the company.

Shame, but it makes me want to see it even more.

This sounds rather entertaining.

Unfortunately Regal owns all of the screens in the area. Hell I'd want to watch it just to see how much of a 'subversive' label I'd be given by our friends at the DHS.

Wait, wait.... HOW many movies have there been that have shown a US prez being shot, killed, or otherwise put out of commission?

Quite a few. They're just usually not about a current president who is yet to be shot.

Heh... one of the comments about this movie on the IMDB page is: "I'm a left-wing liberal, and I hated this movie."

He goes on to post:

Quote
I absolutely despise what George W. Bush has done. In my opinion, he's the single president that's done the most damage to the country in the past century.

According to many people, I should love this movie, since I hate Bush. This couldn't be further from the truth - I've never seen a movie get more hype from pure shock and exploitation. This movie is an amateurish, poorly-made waste of time. No matter which side of the political spectrum you lie, do not see this film.

I think you would have to be a really sick individual to go watch a movie about someone you hate getting shot to death...

Like, REALLY sick.

What, you mean like watching Downfall (http://imdb.com/title/tt0363163/)?

Apparently you're better off for it. The imdb user reviews all complain that it is really badly made, even if they are die-hard bush-hating liberals.

Yes, and if ever there was an assortment of people representing the pinnacle of intellectual prowess, it would be the self-proclaimed reviewers on IMDB.
