NEW SHIP FOR MY MOD!
yes. It's a cargo container.
funny thing is, the size is related to the size of my new freighter, which I had determined arbitrarily.
Yet it fits almost perfectly in the GTFr Poseidon:

Weird

That's... umm... yeah. Well, now that you know how to convert and make models with UV maps, perhaps its time to look into making more complex meshes and actual textures! :D
-
yea, stop playing with your balls and make a fighter :D
-
Someone implement some bouncy physics. Congrats, the GTVA now has meson balls... "next-generation" method of delivering and detonating a bomb... all they need now are heavily-armoured Poseidons LOL...
-
With a retexture and a bit of fancy pof'ing we could have the
heart of gold with infinite-improbability drive... I mean dropships from mechwarrior :D
-
It's a...
...it's a ball. :p
-
Come on guys, remember years ago when we were but tadpoles in the HLP sea...... Making a textured ball was a real achievment. Admittedly it could be a bit more greebled.......... ;7

:(
Oh, come on guys, I've already made a couple of more advanced ships (http://www.geocities.com/turey_the_king_of_the_universe/r128ships.html)(I'll put up more pics in a bit). This is just something I needed for the mod and thought it might be funny to post it on HLP.
Besides, go look at the normal Terran cargo containers. They're just a BOX! My cargo container is complicated in comparison! CARGO CONTAINERS DON'T NEED TO BE COMPLEX! :hopping:
EDIT: And yes, I know my textures suck. Now, if anyone would like to do them for me....
-
Learn to texture yourself. Everyone who can, learned from scratch at some point - so why not try? :)
-
Agreed. You should look at some of my really old stuff...They were sooooo horrible. But we all learn :)
-
One trick is to work at a very large scale, 2048 x 2048 is a good size. Do you know about texture baking? And what graphics program do you use?
I see I'm going to have to write a 'Spaceship texturing' tutorial at some point.... ;)
-
Learn to texture yourself.
Or you could always steal the stock FS2 textures. <,< >,>
-
LOL i've already been asked to do a texturing tutorial.. As soon as I'm feeling back up to par I'll get started. Who knows how long that'll take though.
-
Cool spheres. Now make many, number them, and give them colors and stripes, then set up some jumpnodes and its time to play some pool.

I was thinking pinball, but that works, too...
Just use the baseball bats as flippers.
-
WE have a visual on the object. It looks like a longe cylinder with..
TWO BALLS! Holy s***! That looks like someones..
PRIVATES! What are you worthless maggots looking at?.. Hey, that looks like someones..
Willy? What the hell is that in the sky?..etc...

Glee! I must try it! :D
Now, somebody, make a large rectangular thing! Give it a really high mass, lateral thrusters, and with some creative tabling we've got Pong!
-
and with some creative tabling we've got Pong!
The above has already happened. (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Script_-_Hud_Pong)
-
well yeah, knew about that. but I mean FLYABLE Pong! :p
Multiplayer, even! ;7
-
Sod being in the cruiser assigned to paddle duty............ :D
-
Ever heard of Autoball (http://www.sportsfilter.com/comments.cfm/3779)? It's soccer with cars!
Hmmmm, can a big, bouncy object be made for FS2? :wakka:
