Try the CCCP (http://cccp-project.net/). Combined Community Codec Pack. Before you install this, uninstall any DivX, Matroska, OGG, AC3 and other codecs and players other than Quicktime and Windows Media Player. (Unless you've DivX Pro which you use for encoding video, then uncheck DivX when installing CCCP.)

CCCP will set you up for playing Matroska (.MKV) Ogg Vorbis (.OGG and .OGM) AC3 audio files and many others in one neat package that clutters your system much less than installing all of what it does seperately. CCCP also handles soft subtitles in Sub-Stataion Alpha (.SSA) Advanced Sub-Station (.ASS) and all the other common ones used in AVI MKV and OGM video files.

If you just want to know what codecs the video and audio streams are in a video, there's AVI Codec (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/avicodec.cfm) and  GSpot Codec Information Appliance (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/).

Oh and, uh... pretty picture there. ;) Yup, pos-def snazzy.

Sooo.... how much work would it be to do a conversion of Beyond the Red Line to an Old Skool original series Battlestar Galactica game?

Probably not a lot...but why would you do a BTRL to OS conversion? Why not just help with the already going TOS mod?

Where's the forum/thread for the BSG:TOS mod? When Descent: Freespace was first published I figured it would be ideal for a BSG game since it had big ships and little fighters to swarm around them. :) FS2 just made it better!

Yea, do you have the right codecs? Try the Community Codec Pack or the K-Lite codec pack :)
