I'm getting a strange "underwater" distortion effect for all audio. As far as I can tell, it only occurs in multiplayer mode, especially in the "active games" screen and in-mission.
Seems that the recent change in sample rate has to do with it; the problem goes away if I patch in the former 22050 Hz in freespace/freespace.cpp.
I wonder whether this is something specific to my HW/drivers or a more common issue?

Strange. I don't really play multi except to test something specific, and then it's usually with sound disabled. I'll try and have a look at this before the day is over, but you might want to Mantis this just in case I forget about it.
