Is there a way to copy control settings from one pilot to another? If not, can that go on the feature request list? ;) Woulda been nice if FS2 Retail had an option to make a configuration global, as well as the customization per pilot.
The only reason I can think of why I wouldn't want the same settings for every pilot is if I had one I used in some campaign flying a ship with capabilities radically different from the usual fighter or bomber. Would be nice then to just deselect the Use Global Control Setting and change it.
Hmmm, how's about two sets of Global setting, one for singleplayer and one for multiplayer? Could be some a person would want different for all their multiplayer pilots.

There won't be global config settings. It's certainly doable, but problematic for using all of the mods/TCs out there. It's simply easier to keep it per-pilot.
If you want to keep the controls for a new pilot then just clone the pilot who's control scheme you like. It then saves all global per-pilot settings into a new pilot, but all mod/campaign specific info doesn't carry over so the pilot is still basically clean.
