You guys have probably seen it around here at least once or twice in some form or another - so the idea I want to kick around is whether IG3 would be a good game for us to move onto (in addition to IW2, and FL if it ever comes out (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)). It looks damn sw33t, that's for sure - the deciding factor here is probably going to be what you guys think of the gameplay style. I'll point you to the following references:
An interesting thread in the Infogrames forums:

Constructive opinions, please. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Well, yes, if:
- the game is actually good
- it's moddable
- it's interesting to mod it (if you can add new ships, but no new missions, it won't be interesting imho, and if you can make new missions, but no new models, well, any dedicated IG3 site will do the job better).

Fully interactive galaxy... somehow I don't think you will be able to create missions...

It's not released yet.... AFAIK... best to wait until though. Certainly their concept artowrk gives me a few ideas.
-
yup i agree with venom - without being able to add models then its nto really suitable and withouth being able to add new missions then whats the point
-
So, assuming it's suitably moddable theres a substantial amount of interest on this?
-
i would think so - has great potential - so did ig2 - just think fleets of star destroyers - you could put the freespace ships in it =) plan hte assults on teh shivan etc - that would be cool acaully but not sure how it would work since you cant change cource half way toa system in freespace hmmmm but other than that it would be cool - would work well for b5 though and star trek - or everyon from hlp could halp contruct a completely new universe new ships new everything - we certainly have the talent around
-
It will be worth looking into, at the very least. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

MMMMMMMMM..... they promised a demo in middle of January Hopefully welll se and be able to test it then MMMMMMMM

If it's interesting put it in here! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Looks good enough. Its got more Spacecombat than the others.
-
Thats why I'm more interested in it - it's more Homeworld than Star Trek: Birth of the Federation (without the turn based bits, obviously).
-
I'm going to try and get in contact with CDV, see if there are any modding prospects. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Go for it - after all thats the make/break criteria for an HLP game (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
