Post by: Unknown Target on December 18, 2001, 01:04:00 pm
Hi, sorry if this has been asked a billion times before, but does anyone know how to enable hi-res. textures in FS2?
I have a Radeon 32mb, but all the launcher's setup option will let me go to is 640x480 at 32 bit color, help!

Have you installed the hi-res textures into the FS2 directory? If not copy "sparky_hi_fs2.vp" into that directory and try again  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Of course FS2 is so cheap that you can probably get a copy again without to much fuss  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

is your cd scratched? or whilst you are installing fs2 do you have any anti virus software runn because that can really mess things up.

Have you tried just copying the file straight from the CD? If the file transfer carks it, then you're right, and the CD is stuffed on a critical spot - you'll need to get a new CD.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/redface.gif)

Nope, and I can't copy it off the install CD because it's indisde the basic install files, which I think are impossible to open.

I think the file is called "sparky_hi_fs2.vp".

Yeah I have that but the reciever also needs it, and it would still take about 15 minutes to send such a huge file... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
