Title: Enterprise class
Post by: Scooby_Doo on October 26, 2006, 04:52:12 pm
Hey Axem your Triton redone is getting closer to being done  :)

Theres still areas that need custom painting

And here for some reason I saw the thread title and thought "Star Trek".  :D

Still, a most excellent ship, up to usual standards of quality Scoob.

Cool beans. Love the bridge super structure (at least that's what I hope it is).

But of course I'm still waiting for the FS2 version to get finished too. ;)

Why the heck not? what about a thunder class?
You can use old coa;ition designations like Hurricane, Tornado Cyclone etc.........

Is there a Starlancer conversion project I don't know about?

"Sir, we can't call it the 'Enterprise'."

Major Samantha Carter, Stargate SG1, Season 6, 'Unnatural Selection'

Sorry, just had to do that ;)

Nice looking ship BTW.  Any chance of some alternate views?
Title: Re: Enterprise class
Post by: Scooby_Doo on October 27, 2006, 04:28:50 pm
Only the port sides are light, This lighting will be baked onto the texture and since both sides are symetrical theres no reason to do any additional unnecessary lighting on the starboard.

The launch bay doors need to be retextured, they look way out of scale
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/Shodan_AI/enterprise5.jpg)

Some lighting needs to be done on the tail section
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/Shodan_AI/enterprise6.jpg)

Some lighting also needs to be done
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/Shodan_AI/enterprise7.jpg)

Season 6, actually. Not bad, though.

Looking better and better, Scoob. But can you stop hogging all the bloody talent!

Is that your Formiddable model tucked up in the launch bay in the second pic? :)

Thanks for catching that typo there.  I meant 6, and if when you posted a reply to a thread your taken back to the thread rather than the parent board (as HLP used to) I would have seen it myself.

But to be fair, some of the seasons kind of roll into each other...

The light pouring out of those fighterbays is just the coolest-looking visual effect I've seen in a long while. :)

(I take it from your post that this project is based on Axem's carrier module for the Triton?)
Title: Re: Enterprise class
Post by: Scooby_Doo on October 28, 2006, 04:06:24 pm
The front fighter bay sections minus the side pylons are Axem's model (for the most part).  Quite a bit of bevelling was removed so I could use the polys on the other sections.

Note you'll need to edit the tbm file and replace the guns with your own, since I'm not including the weapons table right now.   Once Saga gets the demo out then I'll release the works.

Title: Re: Enterprise class

Well hopefully I've included everything absolutely necessary.. (the textures)

If  you want to use it right now quickly... (it will be released latter with a full package)

I didn't include the weapons tables because right now their not stablized... theres two versions, the bare freespace2 and the saga version.

What the jack... Even Modelview HTL complains of too many normals... That's like, even more polies than the HTL Hecate.

This damaged computer's getting old real fast...

It's exactly the same as the high poly one, just with the limits bumped so stupidly high that it should display just about any model - though not without errors. ;)

Good luck on getting any mods running these days on a non-SCP FS2 copy :)

Here's a really easy tutorial for getting SCP, from installing Freespace 2 itself all the way to setting up your Launcher settings and hitting play :) (10 easy steps)
