I still have some of the first missions I made, back in late '99 when I had my plans for a super 200 mission campaign with dynamic branching, like all of us have had at some point. :D
I need to try loading them up some time. They should be fun to play just because of how much they suck compared to my recent stuff. The gameplay is actually not bad but the story and text are downright embarrasing. :D At least I was only 13 when I made them.

Looks like something to try. Neat thanks for posting this.

Really... that's the opposite of the missions I make. My storywriting skills are very good... but I have found that I suck at making decent gameplay challenges...
Enlighten one who was not part of the FS community at that point: what was Unholy Alliance?

what was Unholy Alliance?
it was my huge ambitious campaign+mod project which caused me to write my modding tools to start with
i just noticed this doesn't have the mission files...

UA was good in my opinion. The Shivan allies bit was a nice touch. (So was the gravity bomb. :D)

i just found where i had a complete copy hiding

Whoever did the "dramatic reading" made me crack up!

Seems like one's never alone when coming up with ideas that pretty much twist FS upside down... And with the name from an RA2YR multiplayer gametype to boot...

the "shivans as allies" idea was originally mine.. oft immitated

Are you sure it wasn't Volitions, what with the whole Bosch thing?

Or maybe it's such a broad topic that somebody could have thought it up without even having heard of UA? It happens; I had planned to do a campaign about a cruiser and some fighters getting lost in some unexplored systems, long before BR had ever posted on HLP.

Indeed. For example, Peter Drake, in one of the first user-created missions for FS1. :)

I got FS2 in October of 2000 and played that campaign in 2001, I believe. I was actually hoping that there would be new Shivan ships in it, but that was before Shivan mods ever existed. When Inferno was released, I think that is when the first Shivan models came into existence.
Actually, Dark's SF Gorgon and SI Nirvana predate Inferno significantly. IIRC the Gorgon existed in '99 but wasn't widely available. The Gorgon is now seen in a couple of campaign mods as well as the FS Port. AFAIK the Nirvana has long since disappeared (but is similar in design to the SI Arachnas, which was in ITDOH).

Are there any more pics of the Nirvana? I really like that installation...
