Ok, it's been a while since I've seen one of these threads and we've had a lot of new people. Lets see what your desktop looks like, any size is fine - just make sure you use the *lvlshot* tag.

Here's mine... I use the Wallmaster so that it changes wallpaper at every startup, this is one

If your background is a jpeg, convert it to a bitmap, then you can turn off active desktop which eats up quite a bit of your system's resources...

i know what i am doing, and kazan if u compare the load time of icons and ****  on win98,me,2000 or NT against the load time of xp, xp is faster

Kazan, feel free to shut up or stick to the topic - if you want to gripe about system performance using the explorer shell then do it on a separate thread if you really must or not at all.

All of the XP icons are available online for the taking.  Infact, I replaced most of the Windows 98 (ME is CRAP CRAP CPAP!) icons with XP ones.  Tide me over till I get XP on my system.  Which I hope is soon.

Thats because its the actual image, except its HTML coding is "a href=x.jpg" "img src=x.jpg width=y height=z"

So really, you should manually make a 300x226 thumbnail or something, because this lvlshot isn't helping out 56kers at all

Really nothing. I was bored with my blue background so I rendered the Sathanas with Brazil. Its got a nice feel to it. It kinda looks like the Sathanas was built using black LEGO blocks.

You can probably get round that by rendering it much larger than you want it and resizing it so the compression makes it look AA...
