What do you guys think it's the best campaing for the total conversion(TAP i mean)
1: making the original homeworld campaign
2: making the the Cataclysm campaign
3: making a new mixt homeworld campaingn with all ships in it, and a whole new story. (mayby adding new weapons to it to)
4: making them all 3

I think you should begin with the original HW plot, a real TC.
-
All of them. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
The Original plot.
-
the origional plot was far better IMO.
Make the ships textures more clear though, theres a good lad (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

If you can do it with the FS engine, then do all 3, in sequential order. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

original plot.

I'm the odd man out, I guess. Do something original. They already did Homeworld and Cataclysm. Continue the story.

Well, personally I'd like to see the original+Cataclysm games because I've played neither of the Relic versions, and I suck at strategy anyhow (with the exception of playing Protoss at SC). So I'd really like to see how it comes out in FS. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I'd do the Homeworld campaign, Cataclysm, and then something new, and keep as close to the originals as possible. (i.e. what would *you* do as fleet command in the mission, and play out as a fighter with your tactical choices that won the mission going off)

Good man! The Protoss are the One True Way. Slow and Steady. Implacable and Invincible. *heh*

Pfft! Terans 0wn j00...
Especially the marines...
-
Ah, another Protoss brother! Hey, Mik. Err, I mean, En Taro Tassadar! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
Thorn... Bah, you can't beat my real+hallucinated Arbiters and Templar mix. Marines become just another source of ketchup. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/drevil.gif)
-
Nah, not when thats all you have.
Ive done it before, mor marines than I have groups (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Just gotta keep em away from reavers (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
-
Besides that, Protoss have serious cool factor. They're philosophical psychic ninja cyborg beasts. Terrans are just... fodder. And Zerg are bugs.
Give me some Dark Templars and Archons any day.
Besides: Protoss have the only units with Hangars. Hangars mean fighters. And as all of us here at HLP know: Fighters rock. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Heheh, Reavers (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) Nah, but with five or six Templar, I'll just storm the life out of you. Can you hear the marines dying? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Oh and heck yeah, Protoss are cultured. No slimy junk in our briefing room, no stupid General Duke; we've got cool characters like Fenix and Tassadar. Now you can't say Tassadar isn't cool. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) And Mik's right, you can't deny the hangar factor. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
(Admittedly, both F & T die in the end, but they're still pretty l33t... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif))

Yeah, but for every one that dies, I have about 8 more to replace him (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Id eventually take em out (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Heh, my living wall of marines too out about 30 archons while only losing one marine..
then the reavers showed up...
-
Archons can be easily beaten by an EMP (is that what it's called?) from a Terran science vessel. I prefer to use them to take out Zerglings. Mmmm, Zerglings. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
On that note, Reavers are nasty on just about anything. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/devil.gif)
-
Make the original plot, it was really well done and had a sense of immersion as well - I've never played Cataclysm mind you...
-
Yeah, I'd like to see the HW plot as well. It reminds me of that old 80s TV series Battlestar Galactica. NOW THAT would be a total conversion Campaign worth making. I've seen the ships and mods for it, but to a have a BG campaign would simply ROCK! Mmmm, Colonial Vipers VS Cylons.... One limiting factor though would be that the capships had no beams, but who knows, maybe we just never saw them in the show? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Merry Christmas!

Wel it won't be the same but whe are trying to get as close as whe can.

bawhahaha, Zerg rules. I used the most stupid strategy ever to kick don't remember who's a$$, and it worked: hundreds of buried zerglings protected by dozens of those flying suicide things. No flying unit passed so he couldn't scout, so if then he was hesitating moving his grounded units, so my burried zerglings moved farther away from my base, closer to his own. Then a little attack with a dozen of hydralisks on one of his froward cristal centers (sent a couple ultralisk to make the threat look more serious, and added a couple things from time to time, just like a newbies army that lost itself in the map, but will eventually arrive), and the foolled moved his troops right into my zergiling fields (upgraded to the max of course). waiting... waiting... when they were all (tanks, robots, marines, everything) right into the zergling field: unburry!!!! when the zerglings have no distance to cross to go physical with the enemy, it is unmatched hehe, even the flame thrower were no deal (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif). The guy lost half his army, while my casualities were already replaced in the numerous nests of my always growing hive. The dude tried to retreat, only to find the newly borned zerglings backstabbing them. At the same time, the little diversion task force sacrified itself on the main base to destroy the bunkers. With minimal casualities, and the weakest unit ever, I had crushed my enemy in no time. How proud I was (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
