Yep. Some woman copyrighted it back a long time ago (I was told, atleast it was a woman) and ever since it has been under copyright. Hence why in every movie, you never see that song sung, but always a variation, or something entirely different.
-
That's retarded.
-
soon saying any word out loud is copiright infrigiment :(
-
dont forget that :-( is copyrighted too
-
The problem is that much of the population has been brainwashed into thinking "intellectual property good" without actually understanding what copyrights really are and how they affect them. So they just let laws like this pass with complete non-understanding of what the consequences will be. And this is what happens.
Australia has reaped what its people have sown. Not a very nice harvest.

that would be Franklin Delano Roosevelt's government, as he was the guy in charge when the song was copyrighted for a hundred years.

Glad to see people placing copyrights on human traditions.

The purpose of copyright is to promote the arts and sciences, not to secure profit. Copyright for longer than the life of the author is ludicrous IMHO. :sigh:
-
Well **** this.

Public uprising?
If they made voting uncompulsary in Australia I'd bet a great vast of John Howards stupidity votes would be cast down due to laziness. Then again, would anyone bother to vote?
-
We get 80% turnouts for national elections in New Zealand without compulsory voting.
