Title: Neo Terra - Ghost from The Past
Post by: DarkBasilisk on November 20, 2006, 06:16:48 pm
Erm, how the hell do you beat this level? I've tried so many ways and its litterally impossible to take out enough of the Collosus's beam turrets so that it can neither kill the Tera-Firma (which you effectively need if you want to kill the Collosus, or Omega Station (which the mission ends if failure if it dies). Is there some trick I'm missing here?

Neo Terra is infamously unbalanced.

Yea, I figured that when I practically was forced to turn it on very easy to have a chance of getting this far, I was just wondering if anyone had beaten this level, I'm not even sure what's supposed to happen. If I cheat and blow the everloving crap out of the Collosus, there's no mission debriefing -_- If I like Omega station be destroyed its a "you frigging suck" mission debriefing.

Been awhile but I beleve you have to disable the beams of the Collosus before it bombards the station forcing it to retreat or it destroys the station and you can go to the next mission anyway.  One of them been a couple of months.  This is from memory but if you get the maxim cannon, destroy the weapons on the front and the right side (as looking at it from the front..not good with ship location names).  Taking out the front cannons forces it to use it's side cannons and destroy those.  Then if you have time let the other ship pound on it. and it should retreat.

The reason why neoterra is hard is given as the fact that it would be next to impossible for the NTF to win given the odds (which is why in main history, they lost).

So I think it is still kind of worthwhile.
