I'm making sprites for my next project, HardPoint 2, a game which I plan to make that will be somewhat similar to my 2D FreeSpace game from earlier, but simpler, and with netplay. The unique things about HardPoint 2 are huge customizability and a spherical map for 2d gameplay.

Here is the first of many, the Amberwilt Fighter and the Scythe Fighter.

I have come up with names and descriptions for four species. Unfortunately, the concept is becoming quite ludicrous, and I may have to give up the customizability. Here in silence are four more.

In reading order: The Human Amberwilt, Kyrn Scythe, Vuntu Mbalu's Moon, and Taurukseth Scarab.

Edit: And a Taurukseth carrier, the Trillian. Lighting is not final on this one.

Agreed, the bottom left ship carries a striking resemblance to the Centauri fighter from Babylon 5...
Even it's paintjob matches up pretty good.

Controls are: Left + Right to rotate, Up to accelerate, Down to brake, Control to fire, and S to use Afterburners

To start a new game you must exit and reload the program (unfortunately).

Good reviews from Ulala and some friend of Turambar's.

I've almost posted 200 times!

Edit: This version has carriers and gateways (equivalent to jump nodes, to use them press and hold j until you warp). I recommend that you save it separately if you are going to download it, though. http://www.filefactory.com/file/096e8e/

Netplay does nothing. Do not waste your time.

Edit: and here is another version. I gave up on netplay  :( because it wasn't working, and customizability sort of died also, but...

you guys should check this game out.

the game itself is fun enough, but im also giving it a sort of makeover.

sprite work is fun!
