Anyone notice the "echo" sounds from the FS2 intro (right before "Thirty-two years ago...") in the episode where they find Radioactive Guy? :)

Anyone notice how ****ing awesome this series is?

I wanna know what's up with black-telepath-guy.

And I love how Sylar started out with a fairly average, innocuous power and turned it into something amazing.

He's like Wolverine. You go "He's got claws and heals fast - big deal", but then you realise he can't age, his bones won't break, he'll never get sick and the only way he can die is with the flesh being completely seared from his adamantium bones; and you end up like "OMG! WOLVERINE!"

And I'm fairly sure Sylar is part of the larger plan. And not just in a normal way. Like he knows what's going on and what's supposed to happen and he's killing the right people to make sure it happens as it should.

all sylar wants is more power, afaik everyone he kills he gets new powers from them

No, see, what makes me think he's out for something bigger is his little speeches to Suresh.

He seemed genuinely concerned with making the world better. Fixing it.

I suppose he could be trying to become a God to do that, but it doesn't sit well with me.

But I reckon the explosion Hiro saw was Sylar getting radiation-man's brain and ****ing losing it, resulting in him exploding.

I'm still wondering whether or not they're going to reveal exactly how he steals powers, or perhaps show a climactic confrontation where he can display all of his accumulated powers. Freezer-breath ftw.

Only downside of the ep was that we'll likely never see that redhead again. Damn shame, that.

When Hiro came back in time, he mentioned 'creating a rift' by interfering with the past.

I'm betting he learns about rifts by going back again and saving the girl.

when you **** with the past your bound to **** with the future ....

i personally support the theory that if you go backand dispalce even a molecule of air you create a new future / dimension but the old one is still there, so you can hop back to that one with nothing changed :)

The strange thing is; even with all of Hiro's temporal wankery, which obviously took place given his presence in that photo of red's birthday, very little seems to have changed from Ando's perspective in the diner, which just doesn't make any sense at all. You'd think that an entirely different set of events would have played out since red would have recognised [past] Hiro when he entered the diner for the first time.

Ugh, this is the problem with any use of time-travel in media; everything just gets too ****ing confusing and ends up giving me a headache.

temporal mechanics suck....

Okay, up until this episode I was of the opinion that this series was pretty much one of the worst-written science fiction shows I'd ever seen.

But I must admit, Sylar is pretty damn awesome.

I find myself liking it tremendously, despite expectations to the contrary. Hiro is the best, of course. :)

Well, she did mention getting a Japanese phrasebook for her birthday, which turned out to have actually been given by Hiro, so maybe the time loop already existed the first time around.  Unfortunately, that's rather solidly contradicted by the difference in birthday pictures with and without Hiro.

I was watching a special on Stargate SG-1 and real world physics. Time travel came up of course.  The physics and science behind time travel seems to speculate that the paradoxes may not form because if you were able to go back and change something in the past.  You're affecting an alternate outcome that takes on its own path.  The "original" outcome is still intact and there are an infinite number of variations.

Something to do with electrons and their positions around atoms....

Anyways...just assume that whatever was changed.  You're now in a slightly different time line.  Everything else is identical just with minor details changed.

I started watching last week, and am a bit (really) confused.

Things I understand -
Sylar can take other people's powers
Hiro can travel in time

Things I don't understand -
Why does Hiro want to save this girl? From what? Who is she?
Everything else

Here's a tip: download the previous episodes. It'll take a good couple of hours however way you do it, but it's quite worth it.

Why???

"Dude, she's every nerd's dream.  Thin, tall, pretty, dumb as a stump but remembers everything (so you only have to say you love her ONCE - I told you 10 years ago remember? (oh yeah like yesterday!) and totally wants to do him..."  LOL!!!

Kidding...

I was doing the Hiro dance for a bit, "Gonna git some, gonna git some... Oh F**K! NOT gonna git some!"
