Hello im new to the fs open and i wanted to know if the demo of freespace2 could have files added to it to make it compadible with the open launcher, or if i would have to get the full retail version of the game.
(Dont want to download much on dileup)

Dial-up?Oh... that's bad.
I don't think that Open affects the demo. So yeah, you'd need a full version.
I'd recommend ShivanSPS's download... but on a dial-up modem that'd be... longer than you want to know, I think.
Just looked, it's 2 Gigabytes. So... if you want the download, here's the link: Click here! (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,39499.0.html)
If you don't want to spend hours upon hours downloading it, you'd have to buy it from somewhere (like eBay). Runs for somewhere around $60.

o that sucks cuz i dont have 60 dollars and it would take about 3 months to download at 1kbps....

If you're looking for small, the HotU version (http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=4150) is exactly the same as getting the actual CDs, with the exception that it doesn't have the cutscenes. It' only 685MB.
Interestingly enough, HotU seems to have moved from www.the-underdogs.org to www.the-underdogs.info . odd.
-
You could just download overnight, unless you're one of those pay-as-you go schemes?
-
thanks for the link, i couldent find it at theold address lol.
i could try to download it but three months is not over night.... 685mb is far less though.

If you become my acquaintance/friend, i could mail you a copy of the disks...i have the images on my computer. :)
....dontcha love that EULA?

All the links in the FAQ are broken, and that's the shortcut I was trying to take to get there.
-
Now that's just odd. I'm sure I fixed that link a while back. Oh well I've got to look at the FAQ quickly anyway today so I'll fix that one while I'm at it.
