We got tlaking about the new series "Great Yamato"
Yea I'd say she's pretty freaking great now (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
*edit* Just go here : http://www.spacecruiseryamato.com/great/gydata.html (//"http://www.spacecruiseryamato.com/great/gydata.html") They set the page up as a quad divide image map...so posting them here wouldn't create the proper image

That actually looks really cool - what's the deal with this thing? I've never heard of it.

Matsumoto's fondness about making ships look like boats. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) I must say He's one of my greatest sources of inspiration (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I call that a floating piece of crap that will sink near Bretagne and fill our beaches with oil again. Great! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Now you are refering to the old ones, the newest VLCC's have a double hull so it's almost impossible to sink, and by the way on that ship where fillipens they don't now how to sail as whe Europeans, whe are the masters, and they suck

bwarf, england and spanish created the basics of sailing, not fillipens (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Anyway, the Titanic too had a double hull (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif)

I must say, the Yamato is impressive beyond believe!
-
Ok double hull,...so it'll take two icecubes to sink her? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
or one mistakingly fired torpedo,..double hull or not...big boom big hull lota water (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

oh, btw, I must add: it was just a joke (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

EUROPEANS are masters (Dutch, English, france, spanish, portugees)and fillipens suck,
and besides the titanic run on a icemountain and then you can have triple plating and that even won't help
oh and i know it is a joke (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

I dunno. The filipinos I worked with in the US Navy were, as rule, generally very competent, organized and job oriented. I think its really rather rude for you to malign them for being filipinos.
On the other hand, I do seem to recall many ships of all description lost at the hands of eurpoean captains and crews--and asian, and american crews too.

ok, just one thing: all that is ridiculous and should stop NOW
it's not because you're spanish, fillipin or martian that you're a good sailor, it's because you sailed. There's nothing genetical in it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif).

*rams topic back on course with a Demios*

Clearly I'm missing something... that (spaceship? it looks like one) has an anchor...
-
Hey, you need something ti park properly near those asteroids... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
-
if it's like the Arcadia, sometimes, it doesn't have any room to land on planets, so it hovers over (hem) the ground, and drops the anchor so it doesn't move because of nasty aliens shooting at him when the guys are away. yup, shooting at the arcadia makes it move (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif) (but not much else).

Funny you guys should mention about double hulls and all.
The Seaquest can take six torpedoes and still not sink. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

assault on a police officer.
Theft of police property.
Illegal possesion of a firearm.
FIVE counts of attempted murder.
That comes to...
twenty-nine dollars and 14 cents.
cash, cheque or credit card?

And your point would be? The Seaquest is a fictional vessel and it would take thirty or fourty nuclear weapons to sink it if the writers thought it would add to the dramatic tension of the episode... sheeesh!
...and the Titanic probably would've sunk just like her (later) sister ship did even if she didn't hit the floating ice-cube. The metallurgy in her hull plating was flawed, the frigid ice water of the north atlantic rendered the plating as brittle as an eggshell. Her plates were probably breaking away from the riviting even before she collided with the snowcone from hell.
...and I like Starblazers/ Spacebattleship Yamamoto too (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif). I grew up on the series, until it was cancelled anyway (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
, did I miss anyone? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)
------------------
I told you that It ("http://www.jskgames.homestead.com/files/home.html") would be done by November, well, mostly anyway...
I'm working on something new... shhhhh, it's a seceret.

Yep. Don't know the exact specs (well, don't remember) but there was a nasty chem reaction in there - produced huge amounts of gas in a closed compartment and blew holes through both hulls. Point: don't trust 'infallible' defences. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

You need go no farther than the Death Star... or in a more HLP mode, the Lucifer, for the truth of that. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
