Before I begin, let me say something (?!? (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif) ): I respect the following site for what it is trying to do - the purpose is great. But it makes funny reading nontheless. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
Kids-In-Mind.com (//"http://www.kidsinmind.com/") is a rating site for parents worried for their kids about what a movie really has. Pick a movie you know, or that you think of as "innocent", and read away: you'll be amazed at the amount of sex/violence/profanity that slipped by you in that movie without you even noticing. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
Two of the funniest reviews I read were those of Virus and - what else? - Lord of the Rings. Just look at the detailed descriptions of the violence/gore under those two - this site should be rated R! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

America, stand assured that Israel truly understands what you are going through.
Know how to use Rhino3D? Want to put your ships into Freespace 2? You've come to the right place (//"http://www.geocities.com/sandvich/fs2/rhino_fs2/")!

Oh my god, people kissing, thats really comes under the sex/nudity part lol.
PROFANITY 1 - Though unclear, it is possible that there was one scatological term. WTF?

Oh, and;
Young people are shown dancing during a celebration.
Good god!!! In a PG film! What is the world coming to!

I dont get this site. SW is a PG? Since when?!
-
You know, The Matrix was rated R. All you would have to do is slap a few word censors on it and presto, I could show it to my children (if and when I have any)!
Geez, what is the world coming to?!
Words shouldn't make a movie rated R. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
Bad words belong under the PG-13 category.

Censorship is a worse crime than what one would try to block.

Check this one out ("http://www.capalert.com/capreports/").
I found it in a similar thread on TrekBBS.com a couple months ago.
Edit: pop-up alert!!!

Matrix was rated R mostly for violence... though I personally think it should be at least rated PG-13, if not PG...

Ratings for Monsters Inc.:
VIOLENCE/GORE 4 - The monsters that we see throughout the film are varied in shape, size and creepiness: some monsters have many eyes, some one eye
Did you see that? Some have many eyes, some one eye! Goodness, now that's what I call gore... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)
PS. HLP must've ducked under the ratings somehow. What, with all the renders of ships and such blowing up... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Actually, it was rated R for violence and language. Read so for yourself. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
http://www.ravecentral.com/matrixreview.html ("http://www.ravecentral.com/matrixreview.html")
Although, I don't see any problem with the violence... the language was much worse.

Ok, and if that were so then TNT would be in a humongous lawsuit. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
People get permission for those kinds of things, you know.

HLP should be rated R; I mean, we have disagreements and arguments in some topics. No child should ever be exposed to that. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)
Personally, I think that this whole idea of restricting things from certain age groups due to content is pretty much nonsense... (hey I played through all the Doom levels at least 10 times when I was seven years old and the only effect was that I can now proudly say that I played a classic game in its heyday (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif))

You know what one of the best parts of LOTR was? When the orc who killed Boromir got his head chopped off by Aragorn. Hehehe
Here's one from Star Wars Ep1: Two mild scatological references (in both cases, the actual words are spoken in an alien dialect, but the inflection is obvious).
They say "Bantha fodder" oh I'm sssssoooooo scared. And I have yet to see a 0.0.0 movie. Barney was 0.1.0
[This message has been edited by Unidan (edited 12-25-2001).]

Don't they aslo say "Bantha poodoo"? Now there's a bad phrase if I've ever heard one! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif)

Under the violence/gore section...
A monster takes a girl to the bathroom where she uses the toilet while he waits outside the door.
Such violence! Such gore! How could they put it in?
EDIT: There aren't any 0.0.0 movies...just search for the rating.

Hahaha, Harry Potter got a 4 for violence/gore.
Although the site is mildly amusing just think that there are thousands of parents who are actually so overprotective and facist with their kids. Personally I'd rather have parents who beat me than parents who wouldn't let me watch bambi because they thought that it was too graphic in its depictions of violence and cruelty towards animals. But that's just my (most likely soon to be edited) opinion.
-
Its pure madness, over the top in the extreme. Censorship, when not based on a purely invidiual level(which only parents can roughly guess) fails, because everyone is different, have different levels and different things affect different people. Some people may find Barney scary, while others find Wes Cravens Nightmare not scary in the least.

From Hell got a 7.10.6 and at the bottom had
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Serial killing, prostitution, rape, torture, snobbery,
venereal disease, opium use, anti-Semitism, racism, gossip, Free Masons, death rituals, royalty, loyalty.
Free Masons?
-
The Forsaken got a 9.10.10, I must see this film.
DISCUSSION TOPICS - Vampires, sex, road trips, death, murder, blood-sucking, drugs,
Road Trips? WTF?

Star Trek: Ressurection
DISCUSSION TOPICS - The future, space travel, sacrifice, revolution, obsession with staying young, plastic surgery.
MESSAGE - The future looks pretty much the same as the present -- except for those spaceships.
My comment: ...
------------------
You guys are still strange...
-
MESSAGE: Flashy interfaces and righteous judgmental sociopathy will get you so far but getting film names right will get you a lot further.
Plastic Surgery? Shouldn't that be cosmetic alteration? And it wasn't an obsession with staying young. It was an obsession with not dying.
The more of the **** I read, the more I want to ram a copy of Reservoir Dogs down their ******* throats.
NOTE: Violence in films doens't make you ******* violent or ******* profane.
