forbidden planet?
-
Forbidden Planet is a sci-fi movie made way back in 1956. However, unlike the majority of scifi made back then (corny), it delves deep into the evil that is at the heart of all of us. It's one of those movies that you rent out for a party that you can be sure thah the majority have never seen it, and those who have will not mind seeing it again.
I first saw it when I was 5, and it scared the pants off me. It did that every time I saw it afterwords until I was around 15. I hadn't seen it in like 6 years, and I watched it again with the newfound maturity of teen-hood. I still loved it, but it wasn't quite as freaky as I had remembered it.
Enough of that, though. Go to Blockbuster and rent/buy the DVD! Do it now! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
Oh yeah, back to voting, people!

Ah, isn't that the movie with a scientist living on an hollow planet filled with an ancient machine, and other people comes there, they're "greeted" welcome by the scientist and then i don't know what happen next?
-
Yeah, pretty much - the planet isn't really hollow, there's just this enormus computer complex underground that goes on for a few dozen miles.

I liked it. I'd give it a 8. It was good and delved into many themes and such, but Leslie Nielsen as a hero was too much for me. I'm so used to seeing him as a cooky cop. It was a version of Shakespear's "The Tempest". Oh yes, its a Shakesperean MOVIE!!! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

this one? ok well: I didn't see it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/lol.gif)

Forbidden Planet??? Never heard of it. The first sci-fi show I ever watched was Star Trek. Back then, the Enterprise was just a simple saucer with two rods for engines. I think somewhere back in the 80s.

Well, what are you two waiting for? Go see it already! (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
And yes, Leslie Nielsen is one of the stars, but he's nearly impossible to recognize, mainly due to his dark hair. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Yeah, but back then Nielsen was a serious actor (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)
I'd give it a very high 8 or a low 9, since it's better then the "Bug Man from Planet Aris" sort of movie... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

Never seen it. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/redface.gif) Where can I?

Whoops, miscommunication: I was (for some bizzare reason) referring to Forbidden Planet, which was made in '56. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
Setekh, you should be able to find it for rental at a Blockbuster, but you might need to ask an employee there if they carry it, as it is a old movie. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
