thanks 6 million!
I thought this project was dead 2 years ago
and blind luck I found it was not
early Christmas only to find all links down!
thanks again!
-
Hi, Thanks for these.
I downloaded the BASE release 3.2 and some other files also, from www.aeoncube.com.
I haven't checked to see if it's nukeware, but just to let you know it's out there.
Keep up the good work.

i havent seen babylon 5 for ages, almost 10 years it would be nice to see it again. and live as a pilot within the babylon era and that massive slipgate.
-
Is there a download mirror for the heatemup website?
-
Hiya... I just tried to download the files through these mirrors. Can't get a connection.
I have a ton of bandwidth (700kbs) and I've tried through both IE and Firefox to no avail.
I was able to download part of the core and campaign earlier today- but it froze about 5 minutes in. Haven't been able to start up since.
Suggestions?
-
Works here, did you try if http://www.mydatabus.com/ works?
-
The mirrors don't seem to work for me. All I get is an empty file.
-
As Fury said, test if you can reach http://www.mydatabus.com/ (http://www.mydatabus.com/). Maybe your ISP or firewall is blocking it for some obscure reason.
The downloads work, I just tried it from another PC.
-
Hmmm... That was odd. I could access the site's main page just fine, but the download itself was getting messed up by my firewall. I had to lower it for the download. If I didn't, I just got a file that was zero bytes in size. Maybe it's because MyDataBus doesn't give my browser an actual file size when the download is started.
-
I first downloaded the files with IE7 but the files were corrupted, so I used firefox and everything was fine :-)
-
Does anyone know if the Stand Alone missions listed on The Babylon Project page are still avalible?
-
Hello. I need some help with the links: when i try to download any of this elements (EMW, RW or RW update), MYDATABUS.COM reports me: "This user has exceeded their quota for public file downloads today. Try again later!" :( I've registered there but it has not helped. What i do wrong? :wtf:
-
I think mydatabus has a download limit. I've seen the same message. I think it resets daily but I don't know for sure.
The Babylon Project is around somewhere, don't know where offhand. The last time I tried to download it (when I found it) it was so slow I gave up.
<edit>
Here you go:
http://www.fileplanet.com/80741/download/The-Babylon-Project-(Core-Files)
I have no idea why the all the official pages have broken links.
And Fileplanet sucks.
<edit> Actually, it's downloading very nicely now, I installed their download manager.
<eit> That can't be the correct file, it's tbp-core_1.exe and only 60 MB.
-
So, does ANYONE have a link to the 3.2 base that's not on mydatabus?
If I can find it I'll upload it somewhere else.
Thanks,
Huggybaby
-
I totally know where you guys are coming from for those these links haven't worked with.... :(
I reformatted my computer recently and lost Babylon Project, only to find that the files were almost impossible to get when I went to re-download them! I searched for hours for any other website that may have hosted them, but to no avail.
Finally, I came back to this page in the wee hours of the morning, and found I COULD download them! :D If I had to guess, it may have been because less people were on trying to DL them so as to make it possible. I have no idea, but can tell you the links do work.
My advice, though you do at your own risk (and sanity ), get online at a random hour (3 AM, 5 AM, etc.) and try to download them. Most folks are asleep, and this may better your chances.
Good luck folks! I am burning a copy of these files onto a CD and my Flash Drive in case they me be lost for public DL...or completely for that matter :sigh:
-
Thanks for the heads up, I totally forgot to keep checking. Downloading now! (It's fast too).
My guess is that mydatabus has a bandwidth cap that's reset every 24 hrs.
I'll put them up somewhere else tomorrow. Should be a 6 hour upload.
Hmm, can I only get one file at a time?
-
Good to hear Huggy! :D It's a great game. These folks at Hard-Light know what they are doing!
-
Yep, it'll be linked in my sig tomorrow sometime, I'm overdue to hit the sack.
1. So, may I presume that the "tbp-core_1.exe" I found elsewhere is obsolete?
2. I'd rather install the game, then zip up the folder. It would be easier to distribute that way than the separate patches. Is there a problem with that idea?
3. Can I use the 3.6.9 exe with TBP? The installation procedure mentions 3.6.7, and editing tables, and has a bad link to a cube map....
PS. Babylon 5 is the only science fiction show I've enjoyed since classic Star Trek. When it went from broadcast to cable I was crushed. I refuse to pay for cable. J. Michael Straczynski is fantastic. The writing he did on the Spiderman comics was awesome.
-
I hear ya Huggy. Babylon 5 is veeeeeeery well written and hits upons all kinds of issues in society and human nature very very well. Been an addict since I first saw it and have all the DvD Season Collections and Movie Packs out there for it.
As for 3.6.9, I learned via trying to fix some issues with the Wing Commander Saga Prologue stand-alone to work you DON'T want to put it with B5. It doesn't work with B5, but works perfect for Freespace 2 and Wing Commander Saga Prologue. That 3.6.7 is the one to stick to with B5.
-
To: Col. Fishguts or any other Forum Admin
Can you also put a Mirror Download up for the standard mission pack that isn't related to either of the campaigns please? I noticed they aren't on this post to download.
-
Creash, thanks for letting me know about the non-viability of 3.6.9., and also about the missing mission pack, since I wouldn't have known anything was missing. If anything else is missing let me know and when we find it I'll put it somewhere for safekeeping.
I haven't installed TBP yet, but for anyone looking, here's the link to all 6 files above, which I uploaded to MediaFire.
<deleted>
-
I found the TBP-Base-3_2.exe file at filefront:
http://files.filefront.com/The_Babylon_Project_Base_32/;4270028;;/fileinfo.html
slow as heck, but it's there.
-
Greetings, I only recently found this site but I was immediately impressed with the mods (B5 & WC) and I think I'm going to exceed my download limit this month ;7
With the TBP mod I DL all six files and put them on one after the other and checked all paths to make sure everything went to all the right places and I got a serious error where when I started it up it would go *ding* then CTD. I tried to reinstall and tested each one was working by booting up the game. I found that if I did the base and first upgrade with the Minbari and first Raiders campaigns it works just fine BUT if I put on the third patch and Raiders patch the game crashes every time. Did anyone else have this issue or know what I can do to fix it?
The Babylon 5 mod looks excellent! Great work!
-
You applied the 3.3 Update BEFORE the 3.3a patch, right?
-
Yes I did I applied each base version in order. Still no joy :hopping:
-
Which FSO build are you running?
-
By FSO do you mean winrar or Freespace version? The version of winrar I have is fairly recent and works just fine because I used it several times this week created a new set of mod folders for Operation Flashpoint mods.
When or how can I fly some of the other craft in the Tech Room ? I want to see how a Thunderbolt handles in a dogfight and maybe try the Zephyr (Delta-V?) as a raider!
-
By FSO do you mean winrar or Freespace version?
FSO=Freespace Open. And don't be fooled by the version number of the Launcher (5.x), that's not what I'm after. You'll find the name of the build you're using just to the left of the "Browse" button at the top of the launcher window.
-
Firstly I am using what what there for download. The only other version I have of FS2 is an original DVD full version.
There is no number in the launcher near the browse button just a number at the top that says 5.2. Every time I click on registry it says an error has occured and it is cancelling.
Is the 3.3a patch supposed to contain all those fred2_open_red, fs2_open_red, fs2_open_367 files? Is there any where specific I am supposed to put these files because the readme is quite useless.
The game crashed recently when I had just finished the escort the psi corps shuttle (starring the kamikaze shuttle) mission. The game will not run at all now  I don't know what to do other then a full reinstall.
-
Things just keep getting worse for me
I tried to reinstall this mod from scratch and now it will not run at all.
Am I missing something?
-

You don't need FS2. TBP is stand alone. Doesn't it say that somewhere?

:wtf: Don't click on registry then!

In the same place your other FS Open and FRED files sat after you installed TBP. We like to think TBP users can figure stuff like that out for themselves. Which to be fair - usually they can.

There are probably more than a million posts about that bug in this forum. For the sake of simplicity though, let's say wait for Raider Wars 3.0. Which should be a few days.
-
Thanks for fixing the links to the mission pack Col. Fishguts.
-
I downloaded the BASE release 3.2 and some other files also, from www.aeoncube.com.
I haven't checked to see if it's nukeware, but just to let you know it's out there.
Sorry for OT, but what does nukeware mean?
::EDIT::
If nukeware means spyware or similar crap, then the answer is no, it is not. :)
-
I think Nukeware means something you nuke from your hard drive rather than keep. Could be wrong, though.
-
Ok well this is a pretty retarded question but I must still ask it since I am having problems with the game(Cant even start it)
First i install the 2 files in this order (in my case to F:\Games\TBP or something):
1. TBP-Base-3_2.exe
2. TBP-Base-3_3.exe
Then I Unrar/Unzip the contents of B5-3.3a-Patch.rar into the same folder.
Ok now then is this it And I just have to start the game (Will prob have to install a campaign or something in order to have something to play) I dont have to go into .vp files or antything.
The reason i am asking is cause I am getting a error on startup:
Error: Error parsing 'ships.tbl'
Error code = 1.
File:E:\Languages\Visual Studio Projects\Visual C++\fs2_open\code\Ship\Ship.cpp
Line: 3033
Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------
And I just want to make sure I installed everything propperly before I start messing about in the launcher and stuff......

You could try removing 3.3a and adding 3.4 beta:

currently trying with 3.6.7 have tried with several of the others aswell as the new 3.6.9
now I get this:
Error: Web cursor bitmap not found. This usually means that the executable is being run outside the directory you installed Freespace2 to. Please move the executable to that directory and try again

Will have to try and look into this tonigth

I think you made a minor ****up during install, but I can't tell what exactly.
A screenshot of your install folder with all subtrees might us help see the problem.

Yay! Someone finally posted a screenshot in list view, not Icon view!
diceman, I'm no expert but I do notice you have 3.3a and 3.4 vps in your folder. You should only use one or the other.
(I'll correct this if I'm wrong, but I think 3.4 works with the 3.6.9 exe too.)
-
Yup. Delete or remove the 3.3a patch VP file, and if you're gonna use the 3.4 Beta, best use 3.6.9.
-
Aaaaahhhhh wonderful as simple as that well well well I think thath .vp file was from an earlier installation....
Thx guys I wish the gamedwvelopers where this fast when u got a problem but then again you guys dont get paid......
And Huggybaby list view is the only view that works.....

That's strange! I'm glad it does though, it's hard as heck checking a group of unsorted icons, at least for me. :)
-
Magnificent. Many thanks for this. I'm gonna play this until my thumbs bleed..

Does the Raider Wars work in 3.4 beta?
