Title: Network/DNS woes...
Post by: Scuddie on December 06, 2006, 04:28:45 am
OK, simple question...  What would be the likeliest cause of me having to do an ipconfig /renew every few minutes because the DNS names aren't saved?  Simple example, I want to check forums, but hard-light.net shows a DNS error.  Ipconfig /renew fixes this, for the time being...  Until I visit 5 or so other web sites and require another ipconfig /renew or wait a few hours, which it then goes back to a DNS error.  WTF m8?

If anyone cares, nForce4 integrated network controller, Belkin 802.11 b+g+mimo router (wired), Comcast cable.

comcast's DNS server is busted.  Manually set your DNS to be some different server and see if that fixes it.

Comcast and NTL ****ing blow.

I suggest murdering all their employees with some kind of chemical-reactant based projectile weapon.
