A federal Freedom of Information Act request for the data, filed in August by MSNBC.com, has been rejected by the agency. The stated reasons: Release of the information could help terrorists plan attacks against the United States, and it would harm the companies involved.
I have lots of things to say, but none of it is good.

I fail to see how that information could possibly aid terrorists... :wtf:

well, like, you know, if brittany told mahmoud about candi's hair style falling without a droppe call then, like, totally, OH MY GAWD the whole, like, free world economic system would, like, fall to it's knees
seriously though, it's another cronyism, same as electric v. hydrogen cars, electric cars are bad for industry, good for consumers, knowing the actual numbers on cell phone reliability is bad for companies, good for consumers
the government lies to protect companies because they have more power, they have the money to buy politicians into office, keep the companies happy, stay in office, anger the corporations, fail, lose an INCREDIBLY cooshie job
easy choice for an old man with lots of ambition and a legacy to look after really, especially if it's all he knows
edit: unbelievably oversimplified for brevity

quote - [In its initial answer to MSNBC.com’s FOIA request, FCC officials cited only one reason for the denial: “competitive harm” to companies involved.]
Really? We live in a capitalist society. So by seeing these reports consumers would logically go with reliable companies instead of the ones rated to continually have piss poor service? Yeah, I guess that can be considered "Competitive harm".
WTF?! If you are a piece of SH*T company I don't want to give you my business, but I guess Colin Powell's son is to retarded to understand that! (bastard drove my Howard off terrestrial radio)
