Title: Help?
Post by: Harbinger of DOOM on December 17, 2006, 04:30:32 am
I just installed FS2 SCP on my brand spankin' new laptop and when I ran FS2........ This came up:
Quote
Error:
Web cursor bitmap not found.  This is most likely due to one of three reasons:
   1) You're running FreeSpace Open from somewhere other than your FreeSpace 2 folder;
   2) You've somehow corrupted your FreeSpace 2 installation;
   3) You haven't installed FreeSpace 2 at all.
Number 1 can be fixed by simply moving the FreeSpace Open executable file to the FreeSpace 2 folder.  Numbers 2 and 3 can be fixed by installing or reinstalling FreeSpace 2.  If neither of these solutions fixes your problem, you've found a bug and should report it.
File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.rc7dot9x\code\Graphics\2d.cpp
Line: 1523
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]

Help please?
I'm thoroughly baffled.
I installed it using the Online installer found here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,43905.0.html)

Thats what I'm trying to figure out! :(
I re-installed it and it doesn't install my VPs... AGAIN!
I think the installer is f*cked up.
The funny thing is..... that ShivanSpS's download got screwed up somehow and his setup.exe didn't work, so I tried to install it manually and the same damn text (above) popped up too...... Maybe I should try transferring my copy of FS2 from my old laptop over to this one (I got FS2 on my Mac and my Laptop)?

edit: Great, now I can't find my flash-drive.... :mad:

You could just ask someone to give you the VPs. But I can't. I'm at the airport. :p

I managed to stuff FS on a USB stick  :D. It works... as long as I use the OpenAL installer first.

Now if only I had a 2GB USB stick... then I could get 1024x768 instaed of... 640x480  :ick:.

Inferno: Alliance looks awesome on here.... :D
BTW, does anyone know why FS2 doesn't show up on Xfire?

Harbinger, just out of curosity, do you use Windows Blinds? That theme looks like a Windows Blinds theme.

Also, ever used Second Life? If you have, you get where I am coming from with this question.
