I have a small, kind of related question for all you TAPers... and no, it's not about when you're planning a release ;)
Basically, I'm wondering about the relative ship sizes, mainly HW -> HW2, but sizes for the HW one's would be nice too.
It's questions like: Is a HW Heavy Cruiser bigger than a HW2 Battlecruiser, or same size? Are HW2 Frigates bigger? Is a Gunship the same size as a Heavy Corvette? etc....
It's so hard to work out exactly how big some ships are most of the time...
So if it's not to much trouble, could you tell me the ship sizes your going for?
It's all part of me actually modelling my own Kiith's fleet...

I remember seeing a picture with the HW2 ships lined up wich gave a good idea of the size of each, but I would like to now how they would put all of those ship classes in game.

We've scaled the capships up a fair bit to make it a bit more realistic. Other than that we try and keep things true to the tech descriptions and with what looks pretty. :)

Well, when I punch 'Homeworld' & "ship sizes" into google, the first entry is this:
Homeworld ship sizes (http://www.drunkenpirates.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?s=20f81c0d2c99225dfdcab40c78e4f344&threadid=2638&goto=nextoldest)
There, they talk (albit breifly) about the fact that the internal lengths in Homeworld (of the models) was measured in feet rather than metres. It doesn't work so well for the big ships, as a Heavy Cruisers ends up at only 600m in length. IMHO they should be at the very least twice that.
But it does work for the fighters:

That's a 6ft human, and the ~45ft Arrow.
Though now my Kiith Hira fighter is over 100ft long...

Aye. That's the beauty of working in Homeworld, there is so much canon and fiction writing out there its easy to find out some extra little details when needed. :)

Doesn't help when the stuff contradicts itself though.
I still think the back story for HW2 flies in the face of everything that was written in the HW manual. 'Homeworld Shipyards' (http://shipyards.relicnews.com/) Has an article that kind of explains the disparity, but it still doesn't sit quite right with me...

Aye, Homeworlds story can be as complex as the bible at times. :p
I still recall enjoying reading through the Homeworld manuals from start to finish, and being vastly dissapointed with HW2's little handy book. =/
Ah well, hopefully, if we ever reach completion, the storyline of TAP helps bring a new perspective of HW2. :)
