Title: Derelict Ithaca Mission: Unidentified Object?
Post by: Javito1986 on December 21, 2006, 04:00:53 pm
I'm playing the mission where you attempt to disable the Ithaca and near the end I get a message to scope out some unidentified object. Except there's NOTHING in space besides a support ship and the surviving Horus interceptors in my squad. Am I missing something??? I can't complete the mission without skipping it, and I don't like skipping missions because I love the debriefings.

Didn't someone already answer this a few weeks ago?

Look for a sporadic blip on your radar, like in the second mission of FS2.

Turn off 3D radar and it becomes much easier to see.

Yea, I don't like the 3D radar.

I don't use the 3d radar either.  It's easy to see on the 2d one.  Can you actually get to it in time to scan it?  Can you go there immediately and stop it from blowing up the Ithica?  Does Derelict branch at all?

Branching mission paths are rather rare. I've seen only one campaign that does branch in fact...

So, no, Derelict does not branch at all.

Derelict does have two SOC loops, as well as an "alternate mission" that you play only if you managed to muck up one of the objectives in the previous mission.  (Actually, the branch consists of two missions; the first is a completely different mission than the "good" path, and the second is just about the same between both branches.)
